Ok so first question, Have you seen the explanation video? (It's on the "We made it to Kentucky" thread. I'm purposefully not linking here because I don't want to derail the weekend plans thread.)

He did a rotational fall by himself leaving the horse trailer. I wasn't on him.

It can look a bit like Ireland but the roads are much wider and give me far less nightmares than driving in Ireland.

I've heard people say that about Irish roads. I'm always surprised as I'm so used to them:D
I hadn't seen that post in the Kentucky thread. I'll have a read.
 
We had another Xc schooling session in Thursday evening in the sunshine. Really pleased we seem to be cracking the “beggaring off “ issue plus he has stopped being narky about not being allowed to beggar off! Only had one slightly panicky moment when he revved the engine and floored it going up a hill - but he allowed me to pull up at the top! We weren’t wearing the magic kineton either!
Flatwork lesson tomorrow.

Working this weekend :( Means not much pony time unfortunately. Also still nursing the leg wound E kindly provided me with which takes up most of the little time I have before work. Had to pull her bandage the other day because we have horrendous weather and it soaked through, I can't stable her full time (although she does have a walk in stable to shelter in - but doesn't!) so it wasn't worth replacing it. It's scabbed over and doing all the right things so far, hopefully with some care it won't take too long to heal up! It actually properly snowed the other night, bloody freezing!

L the haflinger had her first taste of XC the other weekend, she loved it! Can't wait to crack on with her now spring and slightly better weather is approaching :D

Dressage yesterday was good fun, we got absolutely soaked getting ready and during the first warm up but that's all part of it I suppose.

We lack a bit of dressage comp experience and that showed up, especially in the first test where we both lacked a bit of relaxation, M was definitely not in the zone so we will go out again next weekend and focus more on relaxation, hopefully he will learn to relax the more he does it. I think that was only his 5th and 6th ever tests so happy with a 63% and a 66% at a new level.

So we're now probably looking at the end of next week, or even the week after that, to try to find out what the issue is with her hinds. Bloody horses!

I hope you find out whats bothering her Pippity, not knowing is the worst. They don't make it easy for us!
 
Well this morning poor Arty was introduced for the first time to the concept that mum doesn't always completely 100% know where she's going.... So a 5 mile hack turned into an 11 mile hack, oops. She was very good but is a little cream crackered now since she doesn't really have the fitness built up for that yet 😯

Had another fab jumping lesson yesterday. Rosie jumped her socks off again. It was so windy, the jumps were sandbagged down and one blew over at her. And she didn’t really seem to care. She just carried on and jumped everything first time, no questions.

She still hate dressage though. Funny how I can canter a half 10 metre circle when a jump is involved but not normally. We’re going to carry on with flatwork lessons, as they are obviously required, but just focus on the jumping out competing as I always get terrible dressage scores with a distracted horse who just focuses so much better with a jump in front of her. And come back to dressage in the competition front when she’s stronger and more worldly wise.

She just lights up jumping. And I can take her pretty much anywhere on any surface in any whether and she’s exactly the same. Such a sensible head on young ish shoulders
 
I had an epic time at archery this morning, though I'm absolutely dying now.

Solved a few issues with Carrot, because Mr Coach is a bloody observant little genius. Then had a completely silly fun time with my epic little Fergus pony. Might be worth its own post as its kinda cool and entertaining. I learned how to kill a mountain lion* from my horse, and I nearly fell off...

*Obviously I have ethical issues with this. I will restrain myself to only killing knights in full armour who step under my horse during horseback battles...

We'd moved on from lions at this point. I'll post lion* photos in another thread, rather than de-rail this entirely / bore the many folk who don't care about my silly games.

*There was no actual lion. It was a metaphorical lion. A hypothetical lion. I really want a stuffed lion to shoot now...

Fergus, to his immense credit, is a very helpful pony, who stays straight and allows idiots who hang around his neck to repatriate themselves into the saddle before actual death occurs. Plus everyone was laughing at me already, I didn't fancy landing on the floor in front of them.

I wish there had been a camoflaged lion under the pole. That would've been epic... I have photos to sort, and I need to get my head in order before I attempted to write a whole report!

The XC ground was beautiful, just perfect. But the car park was very muddy when I walked the course yesterday and today was unusable.

I've entered Llanymynech in a couple of weeks instead.
 
JFTD, please come to south worcestershire to hunt the "Black Cat" it regularly takes sheep and pops their bodies up trees, I kid you not! It's not a local legend it is a fact, nearly got me killed! I will house you and pony, bring arrows!
 
JFTD that sounds amazing! Killing hypothetical lions sounds like good practice for savage dogs who I seem to have met a few of recently!!
Tamba had his 66k debut which I thought was 64k, and actually rode as 69k! Thankfully the weather was much better today leaving it until we were nearly home before soaking us. The rather lovely pony was happy to prove that New Forests can do the endurance job happily at this level by cruising round leading an Arab and finishing on his lowest ever heart rate of 40!! Thrilled to bits with him and have promised him a jumping outing next!
