Relaxed hack on Miss F yesterday and managed to avoid the rain and a very enjoyable lesson on Mr D this morning. Started off with some pole work in walk and trot to get him loose and using himself. I am definitely getting better at not using the inside rein to turn him, which we tested at the end of the session with 10m circles in canter, my hands can still be a little backward thinking though which can make him btv or too set on my right rein. Highlight again was walk pirouettes into canter and canter half 10m circles with change through walk. I have still got a strong core (somewhere) but can't always find it and use too much hand so it's a work in progress. He's such fun though! I finished with a huge smile on my face and now I'm off to equipilates (which tbh I wish was on a different day as I am bit knackered!) Then I'll pop over to see Rose on my way home and I have my booster vaccination late afternoon. It's a busy day!

Busy weekend but not very fun :( 7 horses and nothing to ride is a bit sucky. Did enjoy hanging out with these guys though, they're adorable <3

Liking for the baby pic @milliepops they're looking fab ?
Another hacking day for us, a shorter one yesterday after Saturdays exploring which resulted a lot longer on the main road than I'd planned including a stint stopped at traffic lights between 2 buses when he was starting to need a wee - luckily I recognised the shuffle and put him off til we got further down the road ?

Sneaking in with an update on our overnight trip to AMD...

Good things - Chilli travelled beautifully on our longest solo-trip to date, including loading. Not at all bothered about the indoor school, mirrors, people in the gallery area, other horses in the school. Trot work was much more controlled and adjustable than previously (in between the negatives below!).

Very happy to go into a strange stable and munch hay quietly, despite being the only horse in the barn at times. Whisky-dog was also a very good lorry dog on his first outing, he was a tad confused but that's pretty standard for him!

Areas for development: The napping was just as bad, or worse, as at home. It was very helpful to work it through though and hopefully he's now got the idea that forward is always the answer (even if a little wild at times!). There's something slightly embarrassing about your trainer chasing your around with a lunge whip while an Olympic horse is being trained in the same school ?

Blurry screenshot for interest:

@j1ffy Well done; I think many of us can relate to horses embarrassing us at times, especially the youngsters.
Your saddle fitter luck must be widespread this week as my saddler made my original saddle work just by tweaking the shims in the pad :) Happy days.

I did send some 'cheap saddle fitting' vibes your way! Pleased to see they worked ;)

Jiffy, I was rather hoping you posted a pic of trainer chasing your horse with a lunge whip, but actually I've seen that (several times) and the pic of your horse was lovely. tbh I am very envious of you spending time at AMD, I am missing it very much!

I wish you’d been there, you’d have enjoyed it ?. Lovely to read the updates of you with your borrowed horses though.
