As title really?

Myself? Ehem........3 rabbits ( one of wich I snuck into the house) and a horse :)) Also convinced family to "trial run" a year old collie........6 years later my baby is 7 and loving life :)).

Anyone else?

P.s. while writing this I'm sat on sofa next to a little dog who has just done the most VILE fart Iv ever smelt :0

When I was a teen my mum refused to let me have a hamster so I went to pet shop after school bought one with my friend.. When my mum picked me up I had it hidden in my blazer... She heard it squeaking... I was in big trouble but ended up keeping it lol

lol - I never actually snuck them in but tried to make out that one more wouldn't make any difference a number of times.
When we moved to Wales I moved up 2 weeks before my husband and there was another horse here by the time he arrived :p

A couple of gerbils my friend had bred whilst we were back in school. My mum knew about them and told me I'd have to hide them from my dad otherwise the answer would be no.. Brought them home one night and he didn't find out till a month later when he figured out where the squeaks were coming from :D had them for years until they attacked each other, not long after the one died and his brother kept on going for another 6 months give or take.. They were brilliant, I do miss them :)

Rhodders that's brilliant! Lol

The horse one for me was telling my dad I needed him to bring the trailer to this place n time. N that he dad no say in this. Of course I didn't tell him I left that for mother :) lol Once we scraped him off ceiling he was ok n loved the pony :)

A fancy Rat. Brought him home on the bus and had him for 4hrs, before guilt made me fess-up!

I should add this was many years ago as think I was about 11yrs (dunno if it was even legal for me to buy a pet from the pet shop - but they didn't make many checks in those days).

Whats 'permission' lol? I expect my child to ask before bringing animals home. Otherwise, even when I've lived with someone I don't ask for permission. Might ask for an opinion, but that's it. Ex husband made it clear at one point I wasn't 'allowed' another dog, so I just got it anyway. Conversation went along the lines of:
'what the **** is that?'
'a dog, what does it look like?'
'I can see its a dog, wtf is it doing here?'
'nothing much, its sat down'.
' don't get ****ing clever, I told you not to get one'
'so you did, but I decided I wanted one'.

Rhodders :D erm.., for me it I have brought home two puppies....puppy 1 was being sold in a cage at a show..how could you say no!!, puppy 2 me and my mum went and picked up, didnt tell my dad, got home he had a massive moan..30 mins later the pair of them asleep on the sofa! And the puppy became his tractor buddy the pair were inseparable.

Whose permission?!

The farm is my business I do what I like. I do discuss planned purchases with my husband but I certainly don't need his permission!

Latest was a new horse, he just asked if I could afford her. Mainly he says "do what you want, you will anyway" :) I like my husband :):D As a child I was always bringing home rabbits etc, but my mother was far worse, she'd come home with all kinds of creatures.

I brought home 4 rabbits at christmas.

I was doing a feeding trial at Uni where we'd develop and test a rabbit feed. My 5 rabbits were supposed to go to slaughter at the end of the trial but I snuck 4 home and managed to have the 5th adopted by a friend.

I also bought my current horse with a week notice (Mom I'm going to germany next week to buy a horse, ok?) and my current puppy came home the day after I told my mom as well.

When I was growing up, over time I brought home two guinea pigs..fish..a rabbit and two kittens..I got away with those fairly well. Then aged 17 I came home from work (an IT Company) with a Pyrennean Mountain Dog. Harder to sneak him in as my mum saw me coming up the path.On one occasion my friend and I brought a pony round that a friend was selling but parents didn't cave.

Lol I get told. Any more animals and I will be the one to be evicted lol. Save to say. After a dog 4 rabbits and a pony. It hasn't happened yet lol! They love it really

Oh dear. A guinea pig followed by another guinea pig because the first one looked lonely. Told mum I was going go buy a horse and she told me not to dare. I said I was going to do it anyway and she said 'don't tell me.' So I didn't :D and somehow I have ended up with a second cat who I didn't give permission to live in my house!

loads of cats throughout my life.
the first one Tiger a tabby kitten i found in the garden. I asked my mam if we HAD to have a cat or a dog which would she choose. She said cat and then i produced Tiger from behind my back! the rspca came out and the inspector told my mam he was going on holiday but would be back to collect him in three weeks time if we had nt found his owner. Im sure he winked at me when he left. We had him with us for 13 years and he was the main family member , my dad cried his heart out when he died!

my family is very used to the odd things which want to come home with me

whenever i have a box, they know i have something else which needs care. Thankfully my family is good with pets, before i moved out of home i had pretty much every pet but they always gave permission, they knew id look after them so they didnt bother lol!!

my partner is good too, when i came home with a cockerell under my arm, he just said we would have to make room.

and at this very moment in time i have a baby bird on my knee tucked up warm with a hot water bottle.

most animals i bring home need care so he cant really say much hehe :D;)

3 kittens... first one got hit by a car :( (RIP Smudge) so a little while after I got another from my friend who's cat had had kittens. She's 4 now. I tried to bring another home but dad was having NONE of it!!!! So she went to live with my best friend at the time - now my OH :D actually quite glad I didn't get to keep her, she is the daughter of the devil

also bought home a rabbit who I've still got, 6 guinea pigs, not mine anymore - think 1 or 2 of the 6 is still alive, hamsters - all dead now and 2 baby rats who lived on top of my wardrobe for a while. They weren't aloud to stay though so went to live with a friend. After her having them for a year, they escaped and the cat got one. Then the other died not too long after :( RIP Daisy and Maisy lol.

I've now put my animal buying on hold until I have my own place with OH. He won't be able to resist anyway :D

When I was about 11 I had about 10 rabbits, mum said no more, then I saw the prettiest rabbit ever in the pet shop, so me and my friend bought one each and gave them to our mums............ For mothers day!!
She couldnt say anything as my dad didn't want anymore dogs and he got a puppy for his anniversary present from her, about a week before this!!

Didn't exactly bring him home but my sister and I went to the sales to buy some tack on strict instructions not to look at horses (we're both adults but my mom knows what we're like). We got bored and went, well it's not like we can afford any of them anyway so had a wander round. We came across a rather sorry looking tb (didn't even know he was full tb) stood on his own, weaving and very stressed.
We ended up going to the bank, getting savings out and kinda bought him. At that point my sister stayed with him and I had to go home, tell my mom and go get the trailer and inform our yard owner :D

Once she saw the state of him my mom understood why we bought him and wasn't mad. He turned out to be the sweetest boy ever.

I once bought home a kitten and said I found her one the side of the road (along with the litter tray, scratching posts etc). Mum looked mildly amused but accepted her gracefully. We still have the 'kitten' (and her daughter too now) and I have to say they are up their with the favourites.

I've also bought rabbits and guniea pigs without asking which they didn't seem to bothered about but they do pull faces when I mention getting any more (the old ones had died now).

More recently I bought my horse without permission as such, they knew I was looking for one but I never actually asked if I could get one. Which is actually awful isn't it :o  I live at home with the horses but pay all the bills for them, still probably should have asked though :o

Oh dear, where do I start? A kitten when I first got married, my OH does not 'DO CATS'! Then another kitten to keep the first one company. A few years later having not had cats for a long time went to the RSPCA with my then 1 year old son who played with two kittens and so they came home to us. A rat that my son fancied so I got it for him, loved that rat she was such a clever, loving little thing. I think I enjoyed having her more than my son did. Was then warned by OH that if I had any more animals he was leaving so text him a few days later to tell him that I had just bought a springer pup and his bags were packed ready. Needless to say OH and now 3 year old springer still here and living in harmony.:) Then fell in love with a miniature filly in 2011 and just announced she was coming home with us, two weeks after she arrived I went back to breeder and bought the filly's mum to keep her company, saying that, that was my OH's decision as he felt sorry for the filly as my big horses didn't like her. Then last year my OH surprised me by deciding he wanted to buy another mini and so we now have three.

Long history :D starting with the piano-teacher's ginger kitten that I assured my parents desperately needed a home when, in fact, there was a waiting list... He was an ace cat though, even changed my Dad's mind about cats :)

Then early on in marriage there was the cat that I was "looking after" until a friend could have her. Actually, the first night she made such a fuss of OH that he announced that she wasn't going anywhere and friend would have to find another cat to adopt -so that was fine

First horse, that I lost at the age of 29 last year - I could have him so long as I could afford one on what I earned without OH having to get involved. One bank loan later...:D And of course, he was the thin end of the wedge!

I was a Veterinary Nurse and used to bring all manner of pets home who otherwise would have been PTS. We ended up with 4 battery hens, a house rabbit with a poorly leg, 6 stray cats, a tortoise and a dog and many others who stayed for a few months to have a bit of love and care before the inevitable, and countless wildlife from hedgehogs to seagulls.

My OH was glad when I left practice :D

I bought a Siamese kitten for hubby this past Christmas. He used to have one as a kid and was always reminiscing about him so thought I'd surprise him! Fortunately it went down very well! I had to make a 6 hour round trip to pick the
little thing up though .... That was a long day!

Whats 'permission' lol? I expect my child to ask before bringing animals home. Otherwise, even when I've lived with someone I don't ask for permission. Might ask for an opinion, but that's it. sounds like me, i am the only one who looks after consistantly anything anyway so by my reckoning that make it my decision
