If time/space/money etc were no problems?

Obviously I’m mad and would end up with a total menagerie ? - I’m already looking at rescue greyhounds because 3 hounds “aren’t enough” and someone kindly linked me to the JRT rescue website the other day too ? They have lovely JRT bitches looking for homes ?

But I’d also love an English Bull Terrier, and I keep seeing adorable dachshunds on Twitter! If I could find a breeder who did the right health tests..... ???

I can't imagine ever owning anything other than whippety- lurchery things.
I like other dogs, and can admire other breeds, but only ever want this type of dog.

I would like a collie or a spaniel :)

I've never had a dog before though and it would be unlikely to happen unless I had a job where I was mainly based from home.

I specifically want this BC. He’s a ‘failed’ working dog rehomed to my client last year, and I walk him twice a day. (He also nearly ended up living with a forum member when my client decided he was too much dog for her. But my client changed her mind). We have some great adventures and often walk for hours and miles. His level of training is just ? And I’m stunned that he was given away for free. I imagine he’d have been big money if he’d not been nervous of the sheep.

Oh! Oh! And I’d have a couple of deerhounds too!

if I won the lottery and had a huge house and land ?.... could you ever have too many dogs I wonder? ??? I suppose I’d worry they didn’t get enough individual attention and fuss in my.... **coughs**.... mythical environment ??

I would stick to my border (or part border) terriers, but would like one that has ears that work at the same time as their nose. If I had the right home i would have a pack of the little blighters, all home bred. With a few acres with dog proof fencing. Off to buy a lottery ticket

I'd have a couple more border collies, and I'd love an old English sheepdog which is the breed I was brought up with.
To be honest, I'd end up with every dog that pulled at my heartstrings, I'd not be able to go to a rescue as I'd bring them all home!

I have always liked the look/idea of a Bassett Hound.

We are currently seriously considering another rescue Rotter though.

ive always loved bassets but I was quite startled when a work colleague was admitted to hospital recently following an attack by a Bassett they were fostering. Obviously I have no idea of the circumstances (my first question was ‘what were they doing to annoy the dog’ ?) but they had to go to A&E with significant bites and they were kept in for a minor op the next day. But as I say, no idea of the background or circumstances so it’s impossible to know what happened, all the bassets I’ve known have been adorable.

I do love Rotties too, I definitely think you need another ?

I'd like to go for some of the rare breeds, even maybe just clumber spaniels- I'd definitely have another spanner.
I kind of like my knee height dogs, they're a nice size for everything really, so even if space wasnt an issue I think I'd have midi dogs.
Next on my breed list currently is a petit basset griffon vendeen and a particoloured poodle.
I like floofs too, maybe a mittel spitz or something one day.
And a whippet or Italian greyhound, but I'm not sure I could manage something quite so dainty

For those who have mentioned beagles, mine is a mix and more like a minihound, but shes the most delightful wonderful, intelligent loving dog. She lights up my world and drives me crazy in equal amounts, but this face just makes my heart sing

Edit to add, shes perfect with people, other dogs, she loves cats, I cant trust her not to chase things that run, but otherwise shes a fabulously easy dog for the most part, just everyone's friend. My dog training friends who know her borrow her as a stooge dog - she just reads situations so well and responds so appropriately
