Hi all, last week benny was a pillark and semi impaled (well more of a gash with a slight puncture) himself on something! Being a baby, unused to pain and a poof, he went berserk when I tried to hibiscrub it so I hosed it off and puffed it with wound powder and made sure he had fly repellent on. I did this for 2 more days, by which time the wound had healed over, I checked it today and upon pressing it a moderate amount of puss oozed out
he was really good and let me 'milk' it out, I then re-hosed, re-fly sprayed and got out the spare sachets of antibiotics that I have (well within date) and gave him a dose with his tea. I want to poultice tomorrow, but what do you think, I don't have bran on stash (neither does anyone at the yard) and I don't have any ready brought ones (I have everything but in my vet box!!!!) Any gem home made recipes from you lot or should i just go and buy one, I will poultice and then add some antibacterial cream.
Before anyone asks it is not on a joint than god and it is draining down, I am quite positive it will be ok without vet visit, since I have a full course of antibiotics and he is vaccinated against Tetanus, I just want some poulticing suggestions please, and vibes for my poof baby boy
