Today my 16.3hh shire x, spooked at a dock leaf!?! He may be big but he is a bit special sometimes, bless him :-)

My first horse, who never looked at anything once nearly had heart failure at a dead bumble bee in the road!!

My friend's TB has spooked at a poo in the middle of the road, but I think the best one was when he spooked at himself farting!!!

Well, once when Rhythm dozed off and face planted into hisnstable door with a crash, it made Snip spook so hard that he farted really loudly, then spooked at the noise of his own fart!

It did take me a while to stop crying with laughter at that!

Kelly violently dislikes any car that is too low to the ground.

Oh, and people painting fences - once a fence panel has changed colour, that's it!! :D

Leaves are very scary for Monts.. He keeps reminding me their are monsters under them. Most embarassing leaf moment came when hacking down the road.. meet massive HGV air brakes hissing etc.. doesn't even give it the time of day.. leaf rolls towards him in the breeze.. all four feet into the air on to the pavement only to be attacked by another leaf on te pavement so all four feet back on to the road.. Lorry driver sat there laughing!! Cue mega embarassment..:D

similar to the above - once rode a youngster who spooked at his own sneeze/cough thing. and by spook i mean peg it across the school in blind panic! and plenty of spooking at her own shadow from a not-so youngster!

Whilst out hacking on a rural bridleway my arab spooked at a hiker who was peeing behind a bush! Awwwwwkwaaard!!! But funny :D

Chico had a heart attack at a stinging nettle yesterday - the same stinging nettle that has been in the same place next to the gate for months - but obviously yesterday it was particularly scary! Horse baffle me!

my old horse Ollie spooked at everything but one time i had finished schooling and i was sat at the side of the school feet out of the stirrups holding the buckle, then bam he farted and dissapeared from underneath me and i was just sitting on the floor dying with laughter as he just shot sideways then looked at me as if i had done it! and then my other gelding wont go in the stable with a mirror as he is scared of his reflection lol :) bless the special pony :)

Petrol spilt on the road- you know how it goes sort of rainbow coloured? Major crisis with leaping, prancing, snorting and assorted histrionics. Got past this eventually. Level crossing comes down, lights, noise, train rushes past, gates open again, no reaction.

Ron forever spooks at stupid things, he tripped over his own feet yesterday, and spooked at the noise it made.

he also regularly spooks at stones that he's kicked as he shuffles along, and at in fact nothing.... he'll regularly just skittle off forwards a stride or two and we're none the wiser at what caused it! Spooking at his own farts is quite "normal" for Ron.

Tom doesn't spook. ever. he's more likely to go and investigate things that look spooky!

A piece of (white) bread on the floor is a cause for heart failiure!
Brown bread isn't scary, obviously.

One of the gelding I hack out with will go past anything big, noisy, moving erratically and won't even look at them. A piece of cellophane wrapping or a crisp packet will induce a spook across the road. We think its just his sense of humour though as he won't do it if there's any traffic coming the other way  ;)

Mine happy goes past scary dumped in the lane rubbish including TV's, but whilst cantering through a 10 acre flat mowed field would spook at a dock left on it's own miles away from us in he middle of the field!

Today whilst wandering down the road both nearly asleep, little man popped up above a footpath stile on pink bobble hat, she had a heart attack sat down on her haunches and spun in one movment we were facing the way we came! lol Silly horse! although must admit the hat made me jump too !!!!

A pony I used to ride (and still sometimes do) is a ride and drive pony. He is quiet and well mannered to ride and to drive but had a massive freak out when, while riding, we came across another pony pulling a carriage!!!! Ha ha funny boy!!

Also, I know this isn't the same, but my dog always barks at the moon!!! Very strange animal!!

I'm allergic to horses (yes, I know) but my new boy spooks whenever I sneeze when I'm onboard... The worst thing is I close my eyes when I sneeze and when I open them we're in a different spot... : )

The 'pink pair' were hacking one frosty day when TBxD, who was at the back snorted, Appy jumped, so TBxD jumped.

Pearl the Clydie (who was wearing velcroed hi-viz boots) spooked once when I adjusted the velcro on my gloves as I was riding up the road.

The 'bombproof' R&D cob shot backwards up the road as a hydrangea head blew out of a garden to chase her- mind you I fell off her once when she spooked at a piece of carpet waiting by a dustbin and fell down a rut on the track.

I rode my youngster over a motorway bridge for the first time the other day - the bridge was fine, the traffic going under him was fine, but half way over he had a giddy fit because there was a black line on the tarmac...

a bit of grass that is just slightly taller than the rest
rabbit
me touching her neck while riding her
white stones
parts of hedges that have slightly less leaves than the rest of the hedge
green leaf
a person that is watching, even thou they've been standing there for almost 30min, they start to get scary after 30min apparently
her reflection in the mirror
and of course a classic, her own shadow :)
Yet, plastic bags getting stuck to her feet, big tractors with all those machines behind them and piles of rubbish are absolutely fine! Afterall, they have the right to be on the grass verdge, but the leaf doesn't belong there  :D
