With their horsey wives.

I've got one, you can have him if you want
Do you really want to......
Have your riding criticised by OH - all the time?
Have arguments about tack?
Possibly have OH who rides your horse better than you?
Have him using your hat in comps and thus making it stink?
Have to watch him competing every weekend?
Have him boss you around all the time and treat you as an unpaid groom?
Have him criticise you for not riding your horse when you're pooped after a long day in the office?
Him to tut and huff if you don't do things "his" way?
Arguments over why he hasn't fixed the fencing?
Confront his strops when his horse has been playing up?
Have arguments about shoes?
Get yelled at when his saddle falls off because the girth broke (obviously your fault) and have to stifle the snigger that desperately wants to come out?
Be expected to do all plaiting (woman's job apparently) and brushing?
He looks good in tight trousers though......................![]()

Um after some of the horsey girlfriends ive been out with im not activley looking for a horsey OH!!!!! I would prefer a tomboyish girlfriend maybe someone who races motocross or other motorsport.. Football either playing or interest in would be a big turnoff... as would be someone who lists shopping as an interest...Hmm. I'm the horsey one in the family. Wife isn't the slightest bit interested and daughter dips in and out. I'm not sure I'd want a horsey OH

Here's a tip ladies. Find a nice genuine bloke (yes yes, I know stop laughing there must be some out there) and then convert him to be a horsey type.
This is what my OH did and it only took her 28 years![]()
Do you know of any?![]()
Errrm....no!
Ah wise words indeed.........Where are they?.......hid up, if they've got any sense!!
Alec.
edited to say, i've spent a great deal of time with girls, and with horses, and I've finally decided that their both lovely, but only when kept apart! A.
I'm male, first pony when I was 4, pony club etc...I learned as a teenager not to date girls with horses.
I tell male friends who don't ride, "Do not date a girl with a horse, 2 dogs or 3 cats".
I hear my female riding friends with amazing attitudes. "He'd better not get between me and my horse," and "I don't want to hear complaints I'm never at home". Usually followed by "I pay for my horse with my money, he can't complain about the cost."
Problems...no guy likes to place last behind a horse, dog and her friends. If a guy has a girlfriend/significant other etc in his life...he really would like to spend some time with her, and not just when she's sweaty coming home from the barn and complaining. For cost...when I hear a comment of "I pay for the horses with my money"...they are being selfish. He's probably paying for the house/car/vacation/insurance/clothing/vacation...on and on and on. Guys want a partner, they don't want to be an employee or a wallet.
So, I think the main problem is do you really want a guy in your life as a partner or wallet? How much time are you willing to share with him? Who will come first, horse or him? Can you afford your own lifestyle or are you going with him because you "need" his money to enjoy your horse expenses? Even simpler, do you want him because you need him to "complete the set"?
I love equestrians, I love their talent, attitudes and skills...I love they can manage to deal with the problems and challenges horses can bring...but some of these same skills make them terrible dates for many guys and terrible partners.
I'm with my horsey lady

that makes a lovely pic. My hubby has seen my horse about half a dozen times in 7 years. He likes her but mud and dung aren't his thing. I would love to go a nice hack with him but in the main, i like that it is my thing and my bolt hole. Don't think i would want to change it.
I am sure there must be some single, straight horsey men out there. Can you hang out round the show jumping rings perhaps, that's where most are probably or perhaps the racecourse.
Seems to me that HHO should start and online dating site?!!!
