where are all the horsey men for us women??

I've got one, you can have him if you want

Do you really want to......

Have your riding criticised by OH - all the time?
Have arguments about tack?
Possibly have OH who rides your horse better than you?
Have him using your hat in comps and thus making it stink?
Have to watch him competing every weekend?
Have him boss you around all the time and treat you as an unpaid groom?
Have him criticise you for not riding your horse when you're pooped after a long day in the office?
Him to tut and huff if you don't do things "his" way?
Arguments over why he hasn't fixed the fencing?
Confront his strops when his horse has been playing up?
Have arguments about shoes?
Get yelled at when his saddle falls off because the girth broke (obviously your fault) and have to stifle the snigger that desperately wants to come out?
Be expected to do all plaiting (woman's job apparently) and brushing?

He looks good in tight trousers though......................:D

Yep, I will back all this up 'cos I have one too!

I think but I do hope to be proved wrong all the nice horsey ladys are taken !!! whats left?? well there either mad or gold diggers.... Me a forty something bloke with two horses no kids non smoker, easy going and not much hair....
Sadly,oh so true. Horsey women take bonkers to an entirely new level.

If you find one let me know where...i've decided the next should either be in to horses and ride (and come with his own...not having mine :p) or Play Rugby (and by that i mean real rugby as in Union)....Saying that i have sworn of men again.

Becareful what you wish for tho. I was talking to a mate the other weekend because i can remember her partner grooming her mare when they first got together, and asking if he was horsey before hand, apparently she gave him the choice off getting involved or putting up with it. He got involved....and took over. lol

9 Years later, they are still together, run a stud and he does the in-hand side of the showing, on the downside he knows how much they cost and won't let her get anymore :D

i can't find one either :(

but accualy don't really want one for above reasons + i couldn't be doing with someone following me to yard ,i like to esscape for a bit of peace and quiete :)

oh and im completely mad (only when been near vodka) and a gold digger ( only want enough to keep wagon on the road although a new one would be nice :D )

but hey at least im honest :D :p :D

I had the opposite problem, i'd like a bloke that likes women, don't care how he feels about horses! My last fella was a bit of a retard when it came to women, used to call me a fat stupid unsexy midget (i'm 5'3 and 8 stone, with a first class science degree!, cant comment on the sexy part, but I am a poledancer!), but when he'd phone up or text, his first question would always be how is O? And D? And T? (running through every horse Ive ever mentioned to him, then all the cats names). Although not 'horsey', he loved them - he wanted to ride, groom, muck out, feed them all carrots etc etc etc...it was just me he never asked after or said anything nice to!

Hmm. I'm the horsey one in the family. Wife isn't the slightest bit interested and daughter dips in and out. I'm not sure I'd want a horsey OH

Football either playing or interest in would be a big turnoff... as would be someone who lists shopping as an interest...:D

Good luck with finding her then perfect11s as you may have the same problem finding someone in motorsports, i know they exist, but they may all be taken too. good luck in your hunt though!

Here's a tip ladies. Find a nice genuine bloke (yes yes, I know stop laughing there must be some out there) and then convert him to be a horsey type.

This is what my OH did and it only took her 28 years :D

Where are they?.......hid up, if they've got any sense!!

Alec.

edited to say, i've spent a great deal of time with girls, and with horses, and I've finally decided that their both lovely, but only when kept apart! A.

My OH is "horsey", but more of a gypsy-type, rather than a jods-wearing Whitaker type, lol! He used to have a stallion yonks ago and ride it bareback. He doesn't ride anymore but loves taking care of Rosie with me.

No!

Bad enough having a horsey teenager lol

My D is not at all horsey, but he will and does:

Bring in,
Turn out,
Hand graze,
Drive the lorry if I'm too tired,
Fix lorry/trailer/car,
Turn up for feed/farrier/vet/hay
Take thousands of pictures,
Holds my hand when things get tough,
Props me up when things get even tougher,
Never asks me to choose between him and the horses, though he's had good reason to!
Smiles and figures out how when I say I need/want a new saddle/rug/bridle/lorry, etc. :D
Runs a bath for me for when I get home from the yard,
Puts himself out so I can ride/be with the horses,
Gets up at five-thirty and makes me breakfast, and doesn't yell when he's managed to get up and I haven't :rolleyes::D

You need a surfer.
They are as obsessed as we are. Their passion is as strong as ours. They totally understand why we do what we do! They realise that everything revolves around our lifestyle. They are also willing to compromise - tack in the spare bedroom, wetsuits drying in the bathroom. Surf's up and all appointments are cancelled. They get lost in the sea, meaning long hacks, endless hours of horsy fun, early mornings suit both, any show you want to attend etc etc. Money spent on horse = money spent on surf gear, custom boards, campervans and surf trips. They also look pretty hot, and are fit because they have to be.

I am engaged to a surfer. He doesn;t like my horse much but he can ride a little, and I also surf a little. Good times all round.

My non horsey when I first met him ("my god they're big buggers aren't they") but now converted OH was a total diamond yesterday.

We had a Saddle fitting for Vardi and after that was done I was sizing up bridles and bits and all the other associated stuff I asked OH if he could just run Vardi back to the Paddock for me.

Now it was ruddy hot here yesterday and when he hadn't come back after 40 minutes I started to get a bit concerned so called him on his mobile, his response;

"I have just filled up all the water buckets (there are 10 huge ones) and am now pooh picking will be there soon"

I'm male, first pony when I was 4, pony club etc...I learned as a teenager not to date girls with horses.

I tell male friends who don't ride, "Do not date a girl with a horse, 2 dogs or 3 cats".

I hear my female riding friends with amazing attitudes. "He'd better not get between me and my horse," and "I don't want to hear complaints I'm never at home". Usually followed by "I pay for my horse with my money, he can't complain about the cost."

Problems...no guy likes to place last behind a horse, dog and her friends. If a guy has a girlfriend/significant other etc in his life...he really would like to spend some time with her, and not just when she's sweaty coming home from the barn and complaining. For cost...when I hear a comment of "I pay for the horses with my money"...they are being selfish. He's probably paying for the house/car/vacation/insurance/clothing/vacation...on and on and on. Guys want a partner, they don't want to be an employee or a wallet.

So, I think the main problem is do you really want a guy in your life as a partner or wallet? How much time are you willing to share with him? Who will come first, horse or him? Can you afford your own lifestyle or are you going with him because you "need" his money to enjoy your horse expenses? Even simpler, do you want him because you need him to "complete the set"?

I love equestrians, I love their talent, attitudes and skills...I love they can manage to deal with the problems and challenges horses can bring...but some of these same skills make them terrible dates for many guys and terrible partners.

At a risk of sounding like a woos, I have to agree (I`m a bloke to).
My biggest problem, I like horses, I love women !
All relationships are a compromise, it`s a question of balance, a bit like riding really :D
Cheers

I'm with my horsey lady

that makes a lovely pic. My hubby has seen my horse about half a dozen times in 7 years. He likes her but mud and dung aren't his thing. I would love to go a nice hack with him but in the main, i like that it is my thing and my bolt hole. Don't think i would want to change it.
I am sure there must be some single, straight horsey men out there. Can you hang out round the show jumping rings perhaps, that's where most are probably or perhaps the racecourse.
