where are you in the country and has the storm hit yet?

Sandhurst, Berkshire - haven't ventured outside yet, but it certainly is windy and was a very noisy night . . . curious to see what my drive to the yard brings as yard is up on the ridges so plenty of trees . . . poor dogs aren't coping well - they slept with both of my daughters (who bunked up together) and now Daisy is glued to my side with her head UNDER the fleece on my lap and Fred has curled up into the smallest ball possible and shoved his nose right up his tail :(. Hope the Donkey is alright . . .

In Surrey, very windy atm and it must have rained quite a bit as there is a big puddle in the field. Part of our garden roof has disappeared and a reel of heavy armoured cable and some other building materials have blown across the garden. But the horses are all out grazing happily as if nothing is happening. Two of them were rolling when I checked them at 6am so I was initially a bit worried as one is prone to colic in really bad weather but they've been fine since.
Cars are passing ok and I've seen a train go by so the route to Waterloo must be clear.

Oxfordshire. Can't hear any wind and didn't get woken in the night so think it missed us .... ir hasn't arrived yet.
Edit...just let dogs out. It is very windy but not hurricaneous. And if that isn't a word, It should be! It has just this minute started pelting with rain. Just as I am about to go and do the horses.

Reading Berkshire area..wind is horrendous. Quite scary and I want it to go away quick!

I'm somewhere between you (South Ox) and have different weather again! Lots of rain overnight but not much wind til about 6. It them blew very hard for about 45 minutes but it's gone quiet again for now (does seem to be picking up a bit though ). Have had to go and re-cover the log pile and there is a tree branch down but otherwise no damage. We did have a power cut but very briefly

Am on north east coast, Yorkshire. V quiet night and not a breath of wind. Wonder if its missing us? We had amber warnings....

I think it's passed the new forest now. It's quite still out there and the birds have come to the feeder for some breakfast. The sky is still very dark though so I hope we don't have more to come!

7 am here in north Wales, nothing really happened!! Yesterday was really blowy and rain, but no damage, it seems to have missed us. Hope everyone else is safe.

Nr Guildford Surrey. Since my last update we now have no power and phone lines are down. No trains since the one I saw an hour ago so route must now be closed but the wind does seem to be easing now so hopefully the worst is over.

Somerset, it was very windy last night with heavy rain, I woke up in the night to find the power off but fortunately back on this morning and everything ok outside apart from a few small branches down and the electric fencing in places not where it should be, bright now and looking as if the sun is coming out.

2 or 3 of the slates came off the roof here in north kent! Big sheet of metal was flying around by the shops this morning too  moved to a yard with trees everywhere on friday .. Oooops!

Must have done more damage locally than I thought. Brother has just phoned to say trains are cancelled as the line is blocked and it looks like a lot of roads have been closed by falling trees too.

In between Maidenhead and Ascot here, and we have blue skies and sunshine. It was pretty windy at 6am ish, and I had no power for a bit - which caused coffee deprivation-induced bad temper. There's a tree down at the end of the road, and we lost a few tiles and planks off the barn last night - but all in all, a bit of a an anti-climax!

Nothing but heavy rain here last night. A bit of localised flooding - but that's it. I think we got off lightly in South Wales (or Cardiff area at least).

was very wet and windy last night, started at about 8pm, and didn't stop gale winds until about 7am, in newbury west berkshire, but other than wet, spooky horses, no major damage done. hopefully they will calm down enough to ride later! a few mini lakes now around the farm and fields even wetter, oh well!

It seems to be that if you are unlucky enough to live in an area where the eye of the storm passes over, you get a fairly short spell of frightening weather/winds.
Other areas seem to be getting away with just strong winds/bad rain.

Trees fallen on motorways, trees fallen on houses, fences down, trampolines blowing around, wind has eased and is sunny now, but hearing the worse of it has not hit yet?

Worcestershire, very wet and fields have flooded areas but no wind. Has it missed us or not arrived yet ?

We aren't meant to be getting it, just a some winds of about 20mph. It was south england, think london is pretty bad this morning with tube/trains & buses delayed.

West Sussex/Surrey here.

The drive to the yard was just passable due to flooding & branches down - I just got through at 6am, before road closures. Thankfully, all fine at the yard - we are on FC land, so could have been hairy ...! Pony is staying in until the wind does down, so should be out later this afternoon.

The drive home took 40 minutes as I had to detour and couldn't get on the A road which would have taken 10 minutes, due to flooding.

But, it could have been so much worse. Still no trains running, so OH is working from home.

Feeling pretty lucky to be honest :)

In Bucks - dont think anything really kicked in until 6am so got up and went straight to the ponies... tree hsd fallen down a couple of feet from their stable! :( so glad that they are ok.... glad they weren't out though as it crushed lots of my fencing!

Essex/East London: Fierce winds around 7am, and there were no trains running into the city until about 12. Trees on the over head lines. Lots of trees down, and fences, plus gazebos etc flying around. Also had heavy rain in the night.

South West Wales and it has missed us completely, had a bit of drizzle overnight but nothing major and no wind at all. The forecasters have said the storm was further south than they at first forecast so I assume that's why it missed us. It's lovely today and sunny with the occasional light shower. Walked my dogs in a t shirt this morning as it was so warm!

Just outside Congleton in Somerford, Cheshire. A little rain and a little windy. But nothing more than we expect of our great british weather. Just had a phone call from London, with hedges and bushes being blown over, I feel for you all.
