Reading the post below it does indeed seem that farriers get a lot of female attention... why is that? Please elaborate. Personally I'd go for a vet - the financial savings could be exceptional!

And even the most hideous-looking and arrogant male showjumpers do surprisingly well with the ladies - this has often baffled me. is there really such a lack of straight men in show jumping?

Well my farrier is really scrummy, but sadly about half my age! Still, don't men like experienced older women?
Whoops hope my hubby doesn't read this!
Oh and vets always seem to wear really naf clothes!
 
Vet (aslong as they were large animal!)- stimulating conversation, cheap vets bills, whats not to like....... although I did used to have a really rather "hot" farrier!
 
vet defo so long as they were great to talk to...and errm had a nice bum with good looks although i can see past that sometimes....wallet is always attractive though isnt it? savings on those huge bills and all that...
farriers dont really do anything for me i'm afriad they are tagged as players these days...although i have to say not all are like this...just most of the younger ones that know they are fit...with groups of young girlies swooning round them...always makes me laugh
 
Oh no Little Flea, I was just talking hypothetically / in general. I've never really had a crush on one of my own trainers (well, with one exception maybe, or two

), and my current trainer is female anyway... but in general, I do find fit male trainers (irrespective of sexual orientation) very very attractive.

Conversely I really don't seem to find farriers attractive

I do agree though that there is such a lack of heterosexual male riders/trainers that those who do fancy women do seem to have a very easy life

I used to have a drop dead gorgeous one a few years ago ...... certainly made all the waiting around for hours worth it !
 
I have a male friend who is a vet - he's gay so great for gossip and bitchng

But he always discusses any injuries - equine or human in excruciating, nauseating detail. I only asked him what had happened to one rider I'd seen fall at an event and I got "Ooh, compound fracture of her wrist - the bruising was already starting to come up and turn it black, definitely concussion, she'd got a significant cut on her forehead."...etc, etc.
Think it would put me off my food if I had to listen to that all day !!!
 
I put other cos if they were attractive I wouldn't care what they did for a living, unless it was something awful of course.ie an abattoir assistant.
 
Not fussy! I have been out on with a vet, snooged a farrier and went out for lunch with my EDT but this was about 10 years ago

[I found this out later!] I was at a party when I snogged the farrier [who was also single] and the EDT was nice but not for me.

Stick to the fantasies ladies... Far better than the reality...

Any straight, good looking horsey man, regardless of whether he was a trainer, Vet, Farrier etc would do for me

The only thing I would say s that Farriers can get a bit smelly from being near smoke all day!!

any of the above really as long as they were good looking..

i did once date a lovely equine osteopath which was fab as i had a horse with a very stiff shoulder then and the treatments would really have mounted up if i'd have been paying!
 
No that was the point - I can't think of a single good-looking one - most of them have looks only a mother could love - yet they somehow always seem to manage to get the most stunning looking girlfriends... Surely it isn't THAT attractive to be constantly dressed in what basically resembles a christmas elf outfit with a crash hat, with the only discernable skill being the ablility to steer a horse round a course of jumps...?

My father was a vet and my sisters only concern when I went to get my first horse was how much I'd have to shell out which she'd never had to when he was alive and treated her horse.

However, one thing that hit me from the other long thread about farriers, is why are we holding them up to be such gods and think we have to have some very close contact with them in order for them to come shoe our horses? Don't get me wrong I am very respectful of farriers and know a decent farrier is worth their weight in gold and I think I have the most excellent farrier on the planet but I don't put him on a pedestal or worship the ground he walks on. He comes to my horse because I'm a good client and he makes money out of me but he has to juggle every client when there's lost shoes and emergency needs and just tries to keep everyone happy regardless of how nice they are to him or otherwise.

ha ha ha my husband would vouch for that! We met through horses, and he met his ex the same way too!

To think that Prince Charles gave up pony club because it was full of girls! If he'd hung on a few more years he would have learned that for a tennage boy that is absolutely the best thing about pony club!
 
I chose farriers because dear god you should see the muscles on our 2!!! mmm mmm very nice sight at 6 am - must remember to at least put mascara on these days!!!
