which phone do you have and where do you put it when you ride

i have a blackberry and need to replace it as it drives me mad dialling things while i ride even if i lock the key pad. I currently put it in my jacket pocket in the winter and jod pocket in the summer. looking at new phones the Iphone 4 and samsung or HTC are all a bit bigger than mine and will def NOT go in my little jod pocket so what phones do you lot have and where do you ride with them. I tried one of those phone carrier things you put on your arm or leg but all it did was jangle around and was loose and heavy.

I have an iPhone and use a small bumbag around my waist - just swivel it around when dismounting. It doesn't get in the way and I can keep the getting a reward for passing scary things mints in it too! Plus it's in hi viz!

I have a little nylon mesh bag - came with the soap powder blocks some years ago - I replaced the string with a longer piece and hang it around my neck inside my shirt. It's great as I can see the pad without having to take it off and it reaches my ear so I can hear it too.

Bag has one of those funny little catches, a ball shape with a button and a spring and the string goes through a hole in it - Press the button and you can open the bag

At the risk of sounding neurotic, I'm thinking of all sorts of safety issues with this. Phone hunting myself, so genuinely interested in all the posts, but not going for this idea.

Similar to Tnavas, in a small bag/purse on a string long enough to wear diagonally across my body underneath my top layer to stop it swinging around, it peeks out at around waist/hip level so I don't have to rummage to access it

Why? It's as safe as houses tucked inside my blouse - the string is only long enough to put over my head - no different than wearing a necklace!

I have a Samsung Galaxy for normal use but also have a small samsung razor pay as you go with all my ICE numbers in it. Everyone knows this is my riding phone so can contact me on it when I am out. It tucks neatly inside my bra.

So random calls are not just me..... Drives me insane too. Thinking about cheap Nokia to ride with. Can't do phone calls easily on pony anyway

I've got a Samsung Galaxy and I keep it in a 'walking' belt I bought from Avon. Its really handy and only cost £6. Fits my phone, doorkeys and a pack of polos . its slim enough to wear under my top.

My concern is the damage it would cause you if you fell off. Collar bone injuries seem to be common in horse riders. Not keen on bra idea either, but at least the skeleton/phone screen is protected by soft tissue.
