My 3 are out rugged, 24/7. Berry (heinz 57 cob type) has a coat like a yak, but is in a LW - he is approx 23yrs old and I don't want him getting damp and stiff. B (WB in-foal) is in a MW full neck - only in the last week or so has she decided to fluff up a bit! I am keeping her warm, as she feels the cold and I want her to keep her weight right up to foaling, then she may just stay in good nick with her foal at foot! H has a MW high neck on - only changed from a LW on Saturday.
If they had any shelter at all, which they don't, I doubt Berry would be rugged at all yet and H would be in LW and B - well it would depend on her weight.
