Yep, *I think* Fifi was referring to disagreement between FeuFolet and ILWNF, but it would appear that that is because she is friendly with FMN...
 
I read it, as it was occuring. I was very confused, thought maybe there had been some unpleasant posts I missed.
I have no idea about the ins and outs betweentwo-three of the posters, but I have to say, some of the comments are blunt and to be honest should have been kept private.

Not quite sure where this thread is going either, I was under the impression the original post in gallery was just 'look at the horse today' not asking to be ripped apart and questioning when the horse was going to be ridden etc.
Have noticed now, even some of the more established members now posting and commenting 'no harsh remarks, horse has been ill/no i am not wearing a hat/yes he is a bit hin/' etc etc. Almost like they expect an onslaught of bullyish comments......Or maybe I have just mis-read everything......

Which is a shame because it does make you feel like maybe you should photoshop every picture just in case soemone has a go.......
 
TBH I read them and couldn't make head nor tail of what they were really about..took me back to when I first joined the forum and always got the impression that the conversations I was reading were only half of the story and I was the only person who didn't know the other half.

Didn't feel inclined to post. TBH I don't care what anybody does with their horse, if they ask for help or advice I will contribute if I can..but can't be bothered in this particular instance
 
I havent a clue about the ins and outs, but there appears to be a pattern of a certian member or two who consistently 'pick' on other members who don't 'fall into line' or do things exactly how they would themselves.


It's this kind of thing which puts new members off and makes the more mature people leave. We have lost some damn good HHOers through things like this, and IMO the members involved need to be stopped and made to see how immature and childish they are being. Not to mention, downright bloomin spiteful.

Apparently this situation between these users is not just contained to this forum.........this thread has been made for the sole purpose of two members having a sly dig at another member.
 
I'm a bit confused because the thread everyone seems to be discussing doesn't really fit in with the scenario the OP has described. FMN only posted a pic and didn't ask for advice, plus I haven't seen her throwing a 'hissy fit'

That aside, it does raise the question of how to evaluate the advice given on here if it conflicts with that given to you by people you know in real life. Someone on a forum can say they have done this and that and have hundreds of years of experience - but unless you know them in real life they could be making it all up! If their advice conflicts with that given to you by someone you know in real life whose credentials you can verify, then I can understand why you would be wary about accepting the forum advice.

Well you already know my opinion about this Zeb, but I didn't know it was happening on other forums too.

People who act like that are, imho, gutless and pathetic, in the extreme.
 
Noone seems to have noticed that FMN (whom this post is basically about) hasnt even bothered to reply to it. Im sure she is old enough and wise enough to take any comments made with regards to her/her horse on the chin and not to get so worked up about it - which is what it seems like the rest of you lot are.

Nobody is getting worked up about the constructive comments made regarding FMN, however, people are concerned about sustained and continued snipes made over several threads (and other forums by all accounts) by particular people against one person.
In a civilised society, people speak out against this type of bullying.
 
I've been reading through a couple of these threads and unless I'm misreading it seems as though constructive criticism has been taken the wrong way?

Perhaps if people don't like comments then don't post photos etc? I've had a few blunt comments about Ty over the past year but have taken comments on board no matter how hard they can be to swallow!

And FF a bully? mmwwhhaaa
 
I have read that thread, and two things strike me. One, nobody said anything remotely critical or mentioned tenseness until Tia did. Two, once it was mentioned, everyone said pretty much the same thing. I think it is this that is unhelpful. There was a thread in the soapbox the other day with all the replies almost identical - it is illegel to ride on the pavement. I should think the first three or four were enough to get the point through. For the record, I do not agree with Tia on quite a lot of issues, but would never question what she has to say about horses. It is not to do with age, it is to do with experience. I am not saying she is always right, just that she (and other experienced people) have a fair better chance of being right than those with less experience. Also, the OP of that thread didn't actually ask for help, she was just pleased with her progress with her new horse. Young people and young horses can be a dangerous mix, it is always worth listening to people who know what they are talking about.

I must admit - I have a love/hate relationship with this forum. I love getting and giving advice but my heart sinks when I see replies from certain members as I can guarantee they will be slightly antagonistic. That said, mostly I take on board what I want to and ignore the rest. It can be hard though as it seems some members are more 'clicky' with others and it can make you feel a bit of an outcast.
 
Yes, on that one thread, I did say what I thought (nothing new there). It was only after others were agreeing that I figured something else had gone on. I hadn't followed this story but I did go back to see further posts and the reason for me posting a further couple of posts was out of concern; not to suck up to anyone else who had commented on all of the previous posts....posts which I was not party to.

Anyway, that's their business and nothing to do with what my thoughts on the matter are. As I said in the one thread I replied to; I am worried about FMN; end of story.

As you may recall, I made a post about this a couple of weeks ago! That was exactly the question I was asking. The answer appeared to be that members listen to the advice given but also go off and make their own enquiries to validify the comments they have received from here.

I actually find it VERY easy to figure out who understands what they are talking about and who is experienced on here; but my concern was that others may not; thankfully it seems everyone is smart enough to not take everything they read on here as gospel.

The Post in the Gallery was in response to a How Much post in the New Lounge where FMN got upset because quite a few people valued her horse a lot less than she did. The Picture Gallery post wasn't an innocent doesn't my horse look nice type post it was a bit of a 2 fingers to everyone type post and why not?
 
Tia was only the 2nd person to reply. I didn't see the thread til after she posted, but I agreed - not because she said it, because I agreed.
 
I've met FF and if people are saying she's being a bully (which is what I've picked up) then that's ridiculous.

You can't, but faced with the mountain of photographic evidence in the case of such people as Tia, and having met her and heard some of her observations, I would trust her opinion.
 
I think this is being blown out of all proportion.

I do not think anyone was being nasty or spiteful - as far as I'm concerned, the people replying, were posting out of a mixture of concern for FMN who seems rather out of her depth with her horse - and curiosity - wanting to get the story actually straight.

I do not think there was anything like bullying going on - and maybe I'll be shot down because I was involved in the threads, but I firmly believe it was not bullying.
 
Well I haven't met FF in real life, but on here she's always seemed perfectly fine in my opinion.

I think this is maybe just a case of two people just rubbing each other up the wrong way? I'm not sure that I would class it as anything other than what I have seen and that is both seem perfectly capable of saying what they think - no holds barred! It didn't seem one-sided to me I'm afraid and I think it may just have been blown out of all proportion by the rest of us??

Ahhh, thanks for confirming that FF does indeed have issues with FMN that she won't let go of.
Shame she can't keep it off the forum...
