Why do all bridles have a flash!!!!

I am looking for a nice low price bridle, ideally with coloured padding, but I dont want a flash and all I can find are flash nosebands!!!

Anyone know of any - must be relatively good quality, black leather, around the £30 mark.

...because everyone uses them, without thinking about whether they actually need them or not! However, it is easy to have the flash loop removed (i take them off myself and restitch).

I have just bought one that I love, it's Caldene and the flash that comes with comes off completely, but not like the funny attachments that I worry will rub, the loop for it threads between the padding and noseband and has a stopper pin. Bit out of your price range at about £80 though:

It wouldn't bother me at all, none of mine wears a flash so I just remove the flash strap and use noseband as a cavesson. I certainly wouldn't not by a bridle because it came with a flash.

can you find a bridle and a matching cavesson noseband ? if it were me, I'd be searching ebay.

Well, I love the traditional hunting noseband, which has no loop for the flash. big thick noseband, sorted!!

Sorry, has a flash but you could ask them for one without (look at the colour options!!) I reckon a decent cobbler could take it off with no mess.

Stubben do black with white padding, no flash.

Hunter bridles don't usually have flashes, but no word of a lie, I saw one with a flash on eBay!

Get a saddler to remove the loop for you if you can't do it yourself. I've also noticed it, including on small pony bridles.
