Woman killed, seven dogs seized

There is something really weird about this. Normal pet dogs don't just turn on people, do they?

When my father was in hunting his hounds were once exposed to a substance (thought to be LSD by the police) laid by saboteurs which literally blew their minds. He said they were terrifying. He was so upset, mainly about what could of happened if there had been a person in the vicinity. He was frightened to get in amongst them at the time, his dear friends.

that is absolutely disgusting.
under the guise of being “animal lovers”

Another one, small dog (Sausage dog x terrier) happened in 2021, inquest last week.

they have ‘rescued’ this dog but it’s kept outside and shooed out if it gets through the door so not exactly a loved pet as most of the family don’t like it. It’s snapped at the baby before but at night time it has managed to get in the house, go upstairs and into the bedroom where the baby is and attack her fatally. Another failing by people and although I feel sorry for them I also feel sorry for the dog who was excluded from the family.it should have been returned to the rescue immediately it showed aggression to the baby

I have just come in from doing the horses and have heard the loud bellowing dog walker shouting and screaming for a lost dog for over an hour, his female helper was also screeching both right opposite my house in the woods.

My dog was running along the front barking and horses are standing on high alert staring into the woods, then Arabi came charging down to the stables he absolutely hates the sound of that guy shouting.

It's like they all know something is not right it must be that they pick up on the panic and desperation in there shouting.

I hope they found the dog in the end as its not nice weather to be left out all night in ?

Yes, this is what really annoys me about a lot of dog "lovers", ignoring your chosen breed's history, traits and physical abilities is utter stupidity.
I used to walk an American bulldog x, I only walked it once a week and it started off ok ( in the summer), then it stopped coming out of its open crate to have the lead put on, I was not going to put my hand in its space to get it so would drop some treats on the kitchen floor and then it would come out and was fine to have lead on and good as gold to walk, then as we got further into winter it got a bit more " funny" in the kitchen and had to have lead on at the front door, about this time I was asked to dog sit for them and some of the behaviour was very worrying. I told the owners about the issues with getting the remote control off him, getting him off me when he thought it was playtime, putting lead on etc, they said that he does this and they just leave him to it. He also started randomly growling at strangers on a walk and I said after the dog sit I wasn't prepared to walk him anymore. What gets me is that they had 2 small children and didn't consider this behaviour in him at all worrying.

I can't imagine why the dog didn't want to return to the shouting/screeching couple.....

One of the scariest dogs I ever met was an American bulldog it was extremely dog reactive and could not be left off the lead ,ever .
It gave off the same vibe as a Boerboel I knew who went on to attack one of his owners I can only describe this vibe as dark ,always waiting and watching very nasty.
It bit several dogs before it set upon a JRT who was on the lead it towed its owner to other dog and went for it , The owner of the other was an elderly man , it savaged the little dog I am not sure they ended the attack the poor little dog ran a bill of thousands and did recover the owner was very kind ( ?) and did not report the attack .
In this case the owner sort of smelt the coffee and invested in heavy duty assistance and bull dog turned round and now has a pretty normal life , although it’s muzzled in public .
I could not have kept it .

Honestly the racket is awful they are dog walkers and I bump into them alot unfortunately, one of my Arab's is terrified of him if I am out riding and he starts shouting he goes berserk I have to get as far away from him as I can.

Daily Mail so meh, but if this is true that’s quite rough on the dogs that may not have been involved and their owners. Obviously a woman being killed is horrific but I’d Gr distraught if my dog was being Gric in police kennels for 12 months or more.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...CW1JngoqLfOtrbWaAWMwts7dBOhjmS1dMfLICn2YBRTl8

I qould believe it, the vets I worked at used to have a client who dealt with dogs that had been seized for various reasons (they ran fantastic kennels and the dogs were exceptionally well looked after) it was the normal for dogs to be with him for a minimum of 12 months before their fate was decided.
He had 2 dogs with him for years, one of those digs developed a growth on the brain, it caused mobility, incontinence, pain and protruding eye issues but the owner would not allow pts and the courts would not over rule her despite mulple vets and referral stating the dog was suffering hugely.
The system is crap.
To be fair I wouldn't put my dogs through it cos some of the kennels are crap and the dogs life can be so limited as they cannot leave the secure areas.

How sad for the dogs owners, however if mine were in that situation I would ask for them to be PTS while I was there, I would hate them to be scared in their last moments. If I had to use a dog walker I would specify that they only walked my dogs and no others, I have enough trusted friends who would help out, so It would be very unlikely I would us3 a dog walker

It’s pretty awful for the dogs and owners if true. You’d hope they would get a move on with it knowing that dogs are being kept in kennels with the cost that entails. I think they could probably rule the sausage dogs out. Even if they bit the woman, they are unlikely to have killed her. I think i’d request pts if it were mine, but it would break my heart to do it.

Not sure you can rule out any of the dogs on size, they may not have killed her but could easily kill or seriously injure a small child or baby.

So could any dog. I doubt these dogs are more likely to attack people because theyv'e been involved in this horrendous situation,....but maybe others think differently.

As usual, animals suffer because humans. I'm getting rather tired of seeing people continously set up animals for failure, and then the animal pays the price.

I do have a dog walker 3 days a week, and she only walks my 2. I don't really see the large groups around here, and for $25 per dog, per half hour, they best be getting a quality walk!

I have a Lab and a Cane Corso. The Lab is around 60lbs and I can over power her, but she's a happy go lucky well behaved little Lab. The Cane Corso is young, and I've no idea how big she will get. I'd never walk more than those 2.

We do go into shops and parks, especially with the CC for socialization, but otherwise we live fairly remote and only see dogs that we know in the neighborhood. No unknowns come here, and no walking in large groups.

Our dog walker is insured, but I haven't asked if there is a limit on the number of dogs they can or would walk at a time.

Legally I don’t think that’s the issue. It’s that they may have killed this woman in particular.
