Wotsits own thread

@LadyGascoyne out of interest did Figgy take to using a litter tray easily?
Someone asked me how I trained them both and I didn’t. They just automatically used it.
Someone else we know has just found and brought in two ferals which they have semi tamed but can’t litter tray train.
All I can think is I had both in crates first off so space for bed, food, litter tray. Maybe that’s what helped. (Although Wotsit also slept in his litter tray when caged)

Yes, Figgy just picked it up immediately. She's very clean naturally, and hates being messy. She will even try to clean up the bits of litter that fall outside the box.

Same with ours, minus the picking up the left overs. I just assumed kittens used litter trays end of!
Strange, these other people have swapped litter since asking and apparently things have been better since so maybe they didn’t like whatever was being used.

That's so strange - even Mittens used her litter box reliably when she was briefly imprisoned pre-spay op.

Could you build a catio so they can be outside but safe? That’s what I would do if I had cats as the roads are lethal these days

I know people use and love them but I think cats need to be allowed some freedom. I’ve spoken to my vet particularly about Polly and she agrees it’s kinder to let them out.
Polly in particular is desperate, even now she’s up on a window trying to claw through it. We have to be careful opening doors and make sure every window is closed. I tried making a kind of small scale enclosure with some big mesh panels we had but she hated it and was desperate to get out.
I think Wotsit would be fine. He’s still never been or tried to go outside.
We are on a road but it’s a single track type so not busy, of course we get the odd idiots who fly down it.
The road is at the back of the house and the only doors/garden at the front, which then go’s onto farm yard and fields so with any luck they will stick in the right direction. 🤞
It’s about as safe as a cats home can be I think.

A proper little panic moment!
It’s tempting to always help him but he often does figure things out for himself after a while. You’d think he was the slightly not quite right one not her! Well minus the wonky head carriage.
I'd forgotten she was wonky! Goodness she's come a long way! Poor left-behind little Wotsit.

When he was a baby the Weird Kitten screwed up the 18 inch climb/jump from my bed to the windowsill and he's never tried it again despite being able to get to the top of a 6ft fence 🙄

She is a very noisy cat. If I didn’t know better I’d say she had Siamese in her.
The meows since day one have been so loud! She wakes us in the mornings yowling!
Sometimes I’ll be working and run to see if she’s hurt she yells that loudly.
Wotsit on the other hand I don’t think I’ve ever heard him make a sound.
They couldn’t be more different.

This little purple cat shrieks at a deafening level for it's tiny size. Screams and screams all day long, very, very chatty. She will have some Burmese in her going by her colour, which is I think where the insistent voice comes from.

Or her colour could be because she is made of vapour, and vanishes whenever anyone but me or DSW are around. Literally stops dead, STRANGER DANGER and vanishes in a puff of smoke.

As noted in the picture she also sucks her own tail, so is the cat version of the snake infinity thing.Messenger_creation_6CE02B41-66C8-4168-B8B3-B5559D408129.jpeg

Beautiful!! I love chatty cats so much.

The Weirdo Kitten didn't bolt for the door when he saw a stranger for the first time today. He's 2.

As a small kitten, the purple one was super bold and friendly, then we had some work done on old house and lots of cleaners/people viewing the house coming and going and it seems to have traumatised her 🤷🏼‍♀️ She also lived inside exclusively at old house and now she hardly ever comes in except to scoop food into her mouth then shriek a bit more to go out.

Unless the weather is really bad. Then she's an inside kitten 🐈
