I've given notice to leave our current yard, and, sadly, things have gone from great to awful in a matter of hours.
Our horse hasn't settled as well as we had hoped at our current yard and I feel the lack of turnout is a contributing factor but is something neither I or the YO can change, so have made my decision to leave to go to a yard where we can have all year around turnout. I've also found somewhere much closer to home which is a huge bonus.
Current yard is beautiful, fabulous facilities, lovely YO, or so I thought, but it's just not worked for us.
I discovered our horse hadn't been fed his dinner this evening as is and has always been the routine, he's fed along with all other horses.
I'm on part livery but make up all feeds, haynets, etc so it's a case of popping nets and feed in when the others are fed.
I thought that maybe it was an oversight somehow but was ignored on the group chat when I said he hadn't had his dinner, and upon looking at socials I realised I had been removed, so it now appears I'm in bad books and as a result the usual services, or dinner at least, may now not be given. This isn't ideal as our horse is used to this routine and was clearly upset at feeding time, as witnessed by two other liveries who didn't realise he was meant to be fed.
I just don't know how to approach this.
I've never been in a situation like this before and am stumped.
I'm paid up for this month but will see if I can leave earlier, although this isn't ideal as double livery for this month will be in excess of 1k but I'll have to dig deep for our horses sake, if this is the way things are going to be.
The current yard is an hour round trip so I'm going to message again first thing to ask if he's going to be fed, and if not, I'll have to jiggle things around at work to get there in the afternoon and then back again in the evening.
What should I say and/or do? I'm feeling a bit helpless and at the mercy of YO.
