I read that Scotland is not joining England and Wales in banning XL Bullies. Do they not bite the Scots? Have there been no problems with them there. Rescue centres in Scotland are being asked to take in dogs from south of the border. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
Dogs are being sent to Scotland and Ireland (certainly to the North with regards to one ‘rescue’ I’m aware of). Perhaps the problems haven’t been as much of a problem in these places.

Will they be able to transport them once the ban is in place? There was a big push to get some over to NI over the last few months too, as they're not banned here either 🙄

But they were safe here if neutered and muzzled?
Well yes until they’re all dead and people aren’t allowed anymore
Also if a female dog is pregnant and the pups are born after the ban date they must be put down or keep every single one of them.
I understand some of the restrictions but seems a bit mad that people that comply with all of them still have to pay the government around 100 euro extra

Theres no legal reason you canot drive a exempted dog into scotland. Once there the dog is legal as a labrador so you can rehome it easily if you wish. Unexempted dogs will still be legal until 1st feb just not legal to rehome in england and wales. Once again no law against taking them to scotland. After 1st feb unexempted dogs will be ilegal but unless u happen to get stopped while driving to scotland that will be meaningless.
Scotland has an eary intervention system with dogs that cause issues. They dont have the pspo which impact all dogs. Whie they do have the same bs as uk currently (xls not added until 31st dec in england and wales so still legal atm) they seem to concentrate on deed not breed. Scotland seems to have a lower rate of dog related fatalaties then england and wales.
I suspect even if they wish to ban xls they r aware its not going to work and will simply wait until england messes up to justify there position. If they did choose to ban the breed in the future they wil have an even harder time than england and wales as by then I suspect there will be alot more xl types in scotand.

If you cared about your dog, which would you do: comply with some pretty innocuous requirements to continue owning it, or send it off to unknown new owners in another country?
I think there have been rescues that are no longer allowed to rehome in Jan that are looking at Scotland as an option as I think they would have to pts otherwise

Much kinder on the animals to just pts peacefully, if they can't rehome, than moving them here there and everywhere in an attempt to circumvent the new requirements. Ditto owners who don't want to get an exemption and comply - humane euthanasia is by far and away the more animal-centric solution. Rehoming or relocating just causes stress and is focused on what the humans want, rather than what the animals need.

No point banning and blaming a whole breed
Restrictions on who can own them make more sense
Glad they have a safe place to go to
But rather a lot have attacked/killed people and pitbull, which seems to be the main component of the type, are banned anyway. Dunno if anyone posted about the chi puppy that was killed by one today in Sheffield, I think it was. The idea of my lot encountering one is frankly starting to scare me.

I don’t see continuing to ban breeds helping. I think this is the fourth breed banned and everytime a breed is banned the people who own these dogs just buy a different breed and that becomes the new dangerous dog because they’re managed terribly

A stable home doesn’t equal a knowledgeable one.
I know I could never handle a malinois. I have a lovely home for dogs and all mine are happy well socialised dog but if I had a malinois I wouldn’t be able to keep up and they can definitely be dangerous if not managed properly.
So if they become popular they would be banned too?

If they became responsible for the disproportionate number of attacks and fatalities that XL have, then yes. Remember many unsuitable homes got dogs over the last 3 years and I expect more people are also being bitten by cocker poos, for instance, but they haven’t killed many people.
