This is not my horse, and I am WELL AWARE this is a far from ideal situation, but need to ask if anyone has any ideas.
So, horse concerned is a very 'spirited' and well grown-on Arab yearling (filly), has been handled, but not done much in life, never travelled.
Yard has being sold, horses HAVE to move. Yearling had been due to go to another stud, but they couldn't load her. She is currently with her dam and this year's colt, and she won't load even with them.
Owner is at wits end, and needs to move the horses ASAP, has offered the filly free if anyone can come and load her. Otherwise.... well... lets just not go there.
Theyve tried a lorry, but not a trailer. (Dont have access to one)
Last attempt to load they had the vet there, sedated her and even though he kept the sedation up, after 3 hours she was still not loaded. Owner doesnt have her own transport so had to pay out for vet and transporter costs again.
Any other ideas from anyone (and no cattle prods please!) and please no criticism, as stated, Im aware this is not an ideal situation, but trying to help out a lady at her wits end and getting a result for her and the filly.
Suggestions welcome, and anyone wanting to try, please PM me! Horse is in Somerset.
Thanks.
