Not sure what size area you have to deal with, but I have previously used old lorry sheets and abnormal load tarpaulins to temporarily water proof buildings - If you can get hold of them the 'curtains' of old curtain side lorry bodies are great as they won't rip if the wind gets up like woven...
Not wanting to hijack or redirect the thread but a word of warning regarding road planings - some types of tarmac surface use a very large quantity of crushed (not very finely) glass bottles in the tarmac.
I had 15 tons of planings delivered for use as a turning circle for my yard and was...
Couldn't have put it better myself - went for a day in Feb this year, then went back for three days end of June - time, money and weather permitting maybe next year too....
If Wales, my suggestion would be Caeiago - http://horseridingholidaysgb.co.uk
Nice, forward going horses suitable for mixed abilities - happy to discuss further over PM - but Wench your inbox is full.....
Depending on what area of the UK you are looking at, I know of a place in Wales that you may like...
I have been there twice, once for a day and again 4 months later for three days.
Slower placed treks through stunning landscapes, mainly walk and trot - possibly 10% canter...
Not sure I am am...
Not quite sure how long I can 'lurk' here as a new rider but its been just over a year now - when does one have to move on from being 'New'??

I'll second the Forester! Got one myself - has handled everything I have thrown at and in it, tows a Rice trailer with no issues, will do 'cough' the legal limit on motorways, then when you get home you can drop into 'Low' box, pull out the Nissan Terrano that's stuck in the field, hook up the...
Another Wales based one.... Caeiago riding centre might be worth a look. I have just come back from there and am planning a return. If you want more details Google them or pm me... Know they are doing trail rides now (although the day rides are pretty stunning too). Nice forward going cob types...

The VERY basics...... Having always said 'you'll never get me on a horse', to my girlfriend, curiosity(?) got the better of me! There does exist a picture of me sat on a heavyweight cob, in possibly the worlds tattiest jacket. I look at it now and laugh - little did I know that 5...
Buckler buckbootz might be worth a look if you can find some in your area. I have a pair of Buckler work boots and Buckler wellies and always find they are very good value for money and a durable product.
Echo lots of the above comments.... having only started riding myself this year.
Lucky to have a RS locally that is well recognized and has good, patient instructors who are willing to take time to go through things with you.
Definitely expect falls, aches and pains and a few 'oh my god'...
I started about 6 months ago aged 25...
Try to fit in a lesson a week, but doesn't always happen.
Echo the comments about muscle ache to start with, I have a heavily manual job, something which has taken some time to correct as it has influenced my riding to a degree, but I digress...
Yes, by...
The Omega doesn't have a good reputation 'in the trade'.... How do I know - I worked on them day in, day out for four years...
2 litre versions are underpowered and leak oil from the cam cover gasket, which fouls the plugs and and can then blow the coil pack/leads causing misfire which if left...
