How much does your farrier/barefoot trimmer charge?

Thanks all for the posts! YasandCrystal, thanks for your concern. And thanks to my friend for originally posting this thread, I am working atm and on my phone so she posted to help me out. I realise the costs associated with farriery, I work as an apprentice farrier already with the...

Do you have 'the one that got away!'?

Yes, a horse I went to view last summer. Gorgeous dark dapple grey TB gelding. He'd been shunted from pillar to post due to a back problem and I fell in love with him and decided to buy him as a companion. Told the owner I'd take him, but got a call the next day saying he'd gone to someone else...

Selling a horse at the sales

If you're going to go down the sales route I would look for specialist sales rather than York.

    Horwse omg!

I played for about a month. Had horses ranked #1, #2, #3 and #5 for their breed, so gave up. Was a bit pointless after that.

    spelling and grammar!!!

Poor spelling and poor punctuation annoy me the most. Especially when people type a paragraph that appears to be one entire sentence. Obviously a few mistakes are easy to read though, but generally I won't even bother to read threads that I have to decipher.

[ QUOTE ] Hmm... knowing yard 1 I say move If you don't need the school and are looking to hack out with company then yard 2 sounds ideal. Could you spend the money you save on getting there? Also could your friend give you a lift til OH is back? YO at yard one is lovely but IMO has too...

[ QUOTE ] If i were you I'd stay where you were - at least you can get there independently and you trust YO - what happens if you fall out with friend?? [/ QUOTE ] Is a possibility I suppose. We've been friends for years though, and there will be other liveries there, not just me. [ QUOTE ]...

    Moving Yards? Opinions Needed

He's very easy to do. Big or small yard he isn't bothered at all. I've had him at both types of yard now and can't say I noticed a change in his behaviour at all. In fact, when I first moved him to the large yard I am now on, he ignored all the other horses and fell asleep in his box. He's very...

    Moving Yards? Opinions Needed

I've been given the oppertunity to move yards, and normally I wouldn't consider moving, but the person who owns this new yard is a good friend of mine. I honestly can't decide what to do! Opinions appreciated. Current Yard: Pros: * Known YO for years, she's always looked out for my boy. *...

Where have all the buyers gone????

Nothing is really moving in Yorkshire from what I can tell. However, if it's the right price then it should sell.

    Is your horse broken?

(((((VIBES))))) for all our broken horses, and hopefully they will have a good recovery. For those who are broken on a permanent basis, hopefully they will be pain free. Maybe we could post updates on our neds as things happen? My gelding is the only broken horse at my yard so it would be...
