    Struggle 😩😩

My old mare used to bang her door when I got to the yard, as soon as she heard my car arrive . I put a piece of carpet on the inside of the door to deaden the noise a bit and also fitted a stable chain across the door. So as soon as I got there I whipped open her door so she couldn't...

    Yard Dilemmas - WWYD??

Thanks everyone. I'm still so full of uncertainty! I'm now worried as the full livery yard is going to be £60/month more than I pay now, it's quite a big increase! And the DIY yard, after buying my own hay/bedding etc, would only save me around £40/month. In some ways I want to stay where I am...

Kicking ones self very very hard

Oh yikes, sounds like you've got yourself in a right pickle! Don't let this new YO upset you too much or tell you what to do. I can't believe she's trying to get rid of your horse for you! Fingers crossed where you are moving to will be better for you both and yes, things will definitely get...

    Yard Dilemmas - WWYD??

Thanks everyone. There isn't really anywhere else locally. I do worry about the 5am starts for DIY, as I'd have to be home to sort the kids for 6.30am and out of the house by 7.30am, but did think now my daughter is older she can do more herself and she'd be able to get another school bus to the...

    Yard Dilemmas - WWYD??

Just one horse now. I think there is another livery at Yard 2, with just two horses, but not 100%. Daughter is nearly 15. Think I will ring Yard 1 today and see if I can look round.

    Yard Dilemmas - WWYD??

Sorry another post of which yard, but I'd really appreciate some outside opinions. History.... We had two or three horses DIY livery 5 miles from home. It was hard work but almost had yard to ourselves so pleased ourselves with what to do, which field to graze, etc. We then, for various...

Rugs - Neck or Not to Neck??

I've always had fixed necks so maybe removable necks, if any, are the way to go.

Vaccinations... Confused re 6 monthly... sorry dumb post

Confused about Vaccinations... My mare had to be restarted this year, so had 1st jab in Feb, second in March, so third is due ASAP (between 150-215 days). Competition venues need 6 months (plus 7days). The jab that she is due, as the third of her course, will that be sufficient for her "6...

Rugs - Neck or Not to Neck??

Which turnout rugs are best for saving manes? Neck or no neck? I've always thought neck would be better as smoother over the mane area but we necked last winter and lost loads of mane:rolleyes:. Just interested in opinions.... :)
