Well done, he's very handsome and you look very happy in the xc photos! I will have to take a leaf out of your book and try the Pimms trick to calm my nerves (before the sj in my case).
I would much prefer a "made" horse or a "been there done that" type , gives me confidence to know they can do what I'm (trying) to ask and hopefully know enough to help me out. Despite lots of lessons I would worry I was teaching them the wrong things.

Well done! The dressage can't have been that bad if sub 40? We are regularly the last in our section after dressage 😔 (and once I think the worst dressage score of the entire weekend) so I can empathise!
Not a good sign if your physio doesn't watch the horse move before treatment - our physio always sees the horse walked and trotted up, then lunged, before a physical assessment in the stable.
It can be really hard when your horse is injured and has to be retired - been there. Sounds like you have found a lovely home for him though, and I'm sure he will settle in. It might even be easier for you that he is a bit of a distance away. I had to retire my horse at age 7, and kept him...
