    Winter routine

I was just wondering what others routines are for winter, looking to pick up a few tips. Also how long does your horse go from your last night visit to morning feeding?

    Marigold gloves idea?

In winter before work I usually just remove the dropping out of the stable using gloves and a tub trug but last year they went walkies, and I had to fork out for numerous pairs. Does anyone have any clever ideas of how to attach a loop of some kind so I can hang them up in my stable.

    The horse market

Reading several threads on here recently and a few have mentioned the horse market being slow, divided etc, will it pick up again? Good horses will always sell, that is true and most seem to be holding their place at the minute but how long can the lower end keep its head above water when they...

Before you buy! A Welfare solution.

The majority do have the right intentions and I don't want to discredit the good work some do but its similar to the breeding situation, one doesn't make much of a splash but when hundreds all over have the same idea you get a ripple effect.

Before you buy! A Welfare solution.

Not read all the replies, so I apologise if this has been covered. The main target in all this I feel is the 'rescuers' that are funding these breeders/dealers. They would be hysterical at the thought of sending them for meat, that's their sole aim to prevent. So we would end up with more...

    Lets create a solution

You cannot legally seize someone else's horses unless of course theirs a welfare issue or grazing illegally. If people stopped buying them they would soon stop breeding and move onto the next money making scheme. How long is it before enough is enough and everyone is full, theres only a certain...

    Lets create a solution

This would create a problem IMO. The very people who are 'rescuing'/funding the breeders would be in uproar at a charity 'killing healthy horses' thus more rescuing. It has to be tackled at some point although the government is oblivious, the thought of a bad winter fills me with fear! Fly...

Rescuers create horses that need rescued.

I wholeheartedly agree with the point made by the OP. The number of welfare cases, unwanted ponies or even 'meat horses' is not decreasing yet increasing so obviously the 'rescue' plan isnt working somewhere. It also seems nearly every one has a rescue or has rescued their horse, no-one now...

    cob shopping help!

Who knew cobs could be so controversial. Thank you for all the replies I shall pass them on, on the topic of true cob, gypsy cob or cob type I think she's open to all options as long as they are well put together but a little bit of feather would sway her.
