Agree with a lot of what the others say, my current tb 17hh ex racer is so laid back is all respects, quite often he is easier to deal with then some of the shetlands. My last tb was completely different a nightmare to lead and ride but sound in the stable.

Not sure I would purchase a horse at 10 with melanoma's but then again, my first pony was grey we sold him at 16 and bought him back when he was 20, he didnt show any sign of melanoma's until he was 27 and it wasnt a problem to him, he was pts at 39 due to a heart problem.

At his time of year I tend to leave fly masks on overnight cause I am damned if I am getting up at 5 am to go and put them on.

Not sure it will work for saddle soap but a few years ago when I got motor oil on my beige jods I used fairy liquid and it came out, maybe worth a try.
