Any genuinely non-heating balances or alternatives?

Hi, I’ve tended to avoid balancers or top line feed aids almost all my WB gelding’s life, now 13, as he is so sensitive and very quickly flips a switch and becomes an unreachable snorting dragon living half out of his skin, which doesn’t bode well considering we like happy hacking and enough...

Need an "S" name by Wednesday!

Sir Syzygy Look up the meaning of ‘syzygy’. It comes from astronomy, something to do with celestial bodies being yoked together. Could be quite a poetic meaning if you think about it, for rider and horse, or especially in dressage. Also it’s just a brilliant looking word.

Hhhmm, ok thanks. I did type Willow Sport Horses into the search bar for info, but nothing came up. Any really sound reliable places to go to look at horses for sale?

    Willow Sport Horses

Has anyone out there purchased a horse from Willow Sport Horses near Tonbridge, Kent? I've no experience of them and am wondering if they're one to trust or not. Anyone with direct experience, good or bad?

Cranbourne Farm Dressage - Anyone Recommend?

I know what you mean about the staff not being your responsibility, but if the staff aren't treated right then it's usually the dumb-animal (our horses) that get the pointed end of the elbow, if you know what I mean. Super fast staff turn-over is an indicator that something in the...

Thanks to you all. I'll be back if I ever hear the name of condition. I take on board the bit about the naturally slow-growing. Thanks again! :)

Hanoverians Vitamins and Minerals and Mud Fever- any reason why not?

Hello, Last spring a woman that keeps lots of Hanoverian dressage horses told me that you shouldn't give Hanoverians any vitamins or minerals because they're prone to a medical condition that is thought to be connected with excess vitamins and minerals. That was in the spring, and her...

4 yr old WB 'paddles' behind - any advice?

Thanks for the heads-up, but no his feet don't swing out and round behind. It's more that he pushes off the ground behind ever so slightly wider in trot than he does in walk. It's difficult to explain, and it may just be his way of going, but I will bear the wobbler thing in mind when I speak...

4 yr old WB 'paddles' behind - any advice?

Thanks for all your advice folks, I will definitely take heed to it all! Not to defend the physio particularly but it was our steep hilly wet fields that were either extremely slippery or frozen solid during that time, which she voiced concerns about him doing further injury to himself if...

4 yr old WB 'paddles' behind - any advice?

Hello, Beginning to bring my horse back gradually into light work after 3 weeks of box rest due to him coming in from well and hilly field rather sore somewhere between pelvis and hock on left side. Physio lady advised box rest for three weeks with leg-stretch walking in-hand once a day...

saddle suggestions for someone with long thighs who wants thigh support

Thanks to all for thoughts so far! Angua 2 and Venevidivici, having both bought Kieffers that you're very happy with, do you have views on whether £800 is ok/too much to pay for a good condition second-hand Kieffer (Lusitano I think)? Also, when buying second-hand from a saddler do you...

Which should I choose out of these three SADDLERS in Kent??

I've seen a second hand saddle leather dressage saddle I like the look of at Saddleworld, but haven't had Ken Lydon Dykes out yet to try it on my horse, and a friends says it sounds like it may be over-priced at £800. I've read that Clive Bending and Peter Husband are very good, and have been...

Frantic Plea - Livery in SE Kent

I recommend Bursted Manor!! Seven miles outside canterbury in a hamlet called Pett Bottom. The owners and yard manager are lovely and great with horses. The turn-out is quite limited right next to the yard, but they have a nice big 'Boy's Field' just five mins walk along the valley road...
