Thank you, your guy certainly looks good which helps me believe that ulcers are a definite possibility. I am going to call vets first thing and discuss.

    6 yo explosive bucking

Ok, thank you, this was my thought too but then the vet said she wasn’t convinced as he was so well otherwise (good coat, weight appetite) Sometimes I feel it’s me overthinking but it has put my mind at rest that others immediately think the same thing re the ulcers so will look into it

    6 yo explosive bucking

Yes, he has not been on any food other than grass/hay since about March time. I will try a sheepskin. The saddle was fitted to him and I’ve had it checked by the saddler regularly and by other saddlers who have been happy with the fit

    6 yo explosive bucking

He’s a very good doer so in summer he’s just out 24/7 and has a hay net if in at all. In winter he has chaff and a cool mix. He has also done well condition wise on this. He wears a normal numnah, have tried more padded variety’s as well but he doesn’t seem to notice a difference. He’s in a...

I spoke at length to the vet about this as i thought that it could be a possibility. They didn’t think it could be the case as he has no other signs. I had considered treating and seeing if a difference ??‍♀️

    6 yo explosive bucking

Hello, Looking for some advice. I have a 6yo tb x cob x Hanoverian. I’ve owned him since about 8 months old. I spent a lot of time on groundwork, long reining etc before I broke him in as a late 4 year old. He had always been a bit sensitive about the girth but nothing nasty, doesn’t...

Hi My horse is currently undergoing tests as he has hair loss over his face and neck and has completely lost his tail. It has been going on for a little while so he has had; fungal washes, skin scrapes, mite and lice treatment and now blood testing. His liver enzymes came back as very...

    Skin issues and hair loss

Hi looking for a bit of advice. My rising 6 year old cob x has hair loss on his face, neck area and tail. He lost his tail about a year ago and it’s just scraps of hair. His face and neck hair seemed to be growing back mid winter but has since gotten noticeably worse. His tail is thickening up...

how heavy is tooo heavy to ride a horse?

I don’t understand if you have love for the horses why you would want to ride them when you are clearly too big. It’s awful to see and cannot be comfortable for the horse. I understand some people have medical issues which make weight a problem but most of us don’t, therefore we should do the...

Pictures To all of those we have lost in 2020.....

I lost my beautiful boy in September. Found a tumour in may and lost him in early September at the age of 12. He was a diamond and I miss him everyday. A lovely thread to remember our lost ones. A reminder that even when the world is bleak these animals bring so much love.

Snuggy Hoods fleece travel boots. Anyone used them?

We’ve got 2 sets and used them for years, they’ve been washed a lot and still look good as new and very secure. My boy hates anything bulky on his legs from a previous accident as a foal where he had to have repeated bandages so these boots are great. He’s grey too and his legs are always nice...
