Just wondering if anyone would mind telling me what they pay for livery and what that includes. Having a revision of pricing structure and very interested in other yards. I'm aware that this depends on the area so we're in north yorkshire, harrogate/ york/ripon/boroughbridge/wetherby type areas...
Yeah sounds right. I don't think I'm expensive and I treat all the horses like my own and love the friendly atmosphere we have plus (without sounding bigheaded) I am quite knowledgable and so can offer the best care possible etc.
With regard to the contract it was something about us not being...
Hi Please can anyone tell me anything about him? He's doing a water schooling/xc clinic at Osberton in Feb. Does anyone know what this is before I ring up? Sounds interesting but I am looking for an overall xc clinic not just water although working through various approaches/combinations would...
Poor you. Really feel for you as I know what a nightmare being on livery somewhere you don't like is. Unfortunately we don't do diy on my yard or I'm sure we could have found space somewhere. We're at Boroughbridge too so bit further than you wanted. If you wanted full or part livery for a short...
In my opinion you should be able to feel if your horse is working correctly across his back through from behind, using his topline well and therefore in a correct outline. You shouldn't need to look at his head!
I use Ian Brown (Northallerton area but he'd come to you). I find he really works well with my horse and I know a few local people around here use him. Not too expensive and very good attitude.
If he's on loan surely he could have a holiday while your recovering. At least then he's not misbehaving and un-doing all the work you've done so far! That's what I'd do.
As for training, lots of grid work, angled fences, practice distances, build simulated xc fences in the arena (skinnies...
If you like his feathers then just don't clip his legs. Personally I love horses to keep feathers on. If not then take the whole lot off, the full length of his legs. Really its all or nothing, if you want him to look smart x
Oh thats a shame. I would never have got where I am today without my pony club. Shame there's no way you could. Do you think you could teach her to travel well. My horse was the worst traveller, just couldn't stand up around bends but he got better over time and now travels miles to events. If at...
Not sure on the age restrictions butguess about 16. Do you have your own pony/horse? If so then I'd join the local pony club and do their exams. I did it this way and completed my Pony Club B Test which gave me direct entry into BHS Stage 3. Much cheaper to do it this way x
I worked in a riding school when I qualified BHSAI and will never do so again. It was awful, pay crap and never on time, very monotonous (if thats how its spelt!) and horses never really wanted to play the game so very tedious. Now work freelance and run livery yard plus my own horses alongside...
