    When can she start working?

Umbilical torsion. Mare is not a particularly stressy type so I guess it was just one of those things.

    When can she start working?

Hi all just looking for some advice, my mare aborted her foal today 7 months it was pretty terrible by all accounts but she is doing fine and been checked by the vet. She is 4 so just wondering what people would suggest in terms of her starting some work? Obviously I will leave her a few weeks...

    Vets or stud?

Just a query as to where people prefer to send their mare to be inseminated. I have a second mare going to stud in the new year and not sure whether to go stud or the vets. If I was using chilled/ fresh the logical option would be stud but it will more than likely be frozen and there isn't much...

Hartpury college vs royal agricultural university

I am currently studying at RAU and I am glad made the desision to come here. It has a reputation of being full of snobs when I was looking around but couldn't be any more different! I'm just going into my second year. Lectures and lecturers are fantastic and they give you a good grounding in...

    Ponies as pets

I bought my girl as a 4yr old when I was 14. She got diagnosed with collateral ligament damage in 2009 and I had 2 years work out of her after that but she went downhill again and is now retired at 10 :( She won't go anywhere else now and I am happy for her to be a lawnmower with my yearling...

Just wondering how many people have foals living out over the winter and how they cope with keeping weight and just in general? Am considering getting a foal this year as something up and coming as realistically my girl isn't going to be going forever and have always wanted to have something...
