I think full livery varies from place to place, at the yard i used to be on it included bedding, feed, mucking out and changing rugs (winter) and basically out at grass summer, certainly no grooming, exercising or bringing in outside of the set bring in times. All for the bargain price of £110...
What a fantastic idea! I think i might just go and buy a mobile home. Thats a lot of work for accomodation in a mobile home, you're probably looking at 3 hrs work a day, presumably 7 days a week. Is there not a way of making your current livery cheaper instead?
Aleka - i had ponies/horses there from 1986 (when i was 12) to about 1999 - Rebel, Pol(Apollo), Easter, Ellie, JJ. Was taught mainly by Ticky. Mrs B is still going then - fantastic!
I dont remember William but maybe he wasthere after i moved.
Ideally twice - i've found horses can sometimes give you a totally different ride second time particularly if you get on them without them having been ridden by the owner/trainer first. I've been caught out a couple of times when i've viewed horses that have been ridden by tall strong...
Know how you feel - its taken me all week to get a sample from my mare. Are you sure about the sample not being ok if kept in the fridge tho, my vet said it was fine all weekend as long as it was in the fridge?
I started riding 5 weeks after no 1 (had episiotomy) but had to leave it 6 months to ride after no2 (3rd degree tear which refused to heal ). My advice is wait until you feel 100% ok to ride then wait another week - a few weeks here or there doesnt matter and theres no prizes for getting...
My horse had a very similar story to yours and it wasnt until she went to horspital and had a more detailed scan done that it revealed significant damage to the lateral patella ligament - if your horse is still lame i would def be contacting the vet again, sorry.
Sounds perfect!
If as stated in advert then i would def be tempted to look - just can't quite work out why she went hunting as a 3 yr old (Autumn 08) or why a well bred mare wouldn't have a proper passport to verify breeding? Or am i being picky?
Even if your hubbie only rides him for 2 yrs - if you pay £800 for him thats just £400 a year - bargain in my opinion. You could spend months looking for something genuine and he sounds very sellable even if your other half wants to move up to something more exciting later on.
Your dad clearly has talent - be a shame to waste it! There is a chap near us who trains pt 2 pt and who broke in a horse for us and he's 68 this year - experience counts for a lot!
