I just dropped Mickey off with a wonderful carer!

Today I began a journey with very mixed feelings, would I like where he was going, would I like the person I wasgoing to meet there stuff like that! And i have to say a bit of me hoped the horse transporter wasn't going to turn up! Anyway she did, after saying goodbye to YO (we were both in...

People's opinions on callers in tests

I'm very much of the opinion each to their own... If someone is a first timer to dressage and asks for a caller i can see no problem with that - if only to suppress their fears about forgetting the test. And if you offer it for one, you have to offer it to all...

    New Puppy and The Cat

well my cat dealt with the situation herself... a swift swipe of her clawed paw, saw pup off and pup has had upmost respect for her ever since... (pup will be 4 this year) - although when she came home pup was teeny tiny. However as others have said allow the cat an escape route, discourage pup...

    Fosse Park Leicester horses

Yep, i work just around the corner, and people have been complaining for years, sadly the RSPCA have never done anything as technically there's nothing 'wrong'. I hope the facebook page etc. will do some good...

Horse Killed on Roads and Complaint about Surrey Police...

I feel desperately sorry for the horses owner, it would have been simple to ensure a full 'audit' behind the accident with the use of photos. A horrible sight i'm sure, but documented proof of the horse, its markings, size etc. should the slaughter house be equipped to deal with all kinds...

    Feeling like a failure...

Thank you tash, that's probably why I'm so upset about all this, he's an awesome horse, I love spending time with him. I'm sure I'll get there in the end, just going to take time!

    Feeling like a failure...

Thanks everyone, i never really considered i dont need to ride, i may think i want to (and i do) but realise now i dont need to rush into it, and most importantly i know i need to do it when i'm ready to. I think the main issue is that Mickeys ulcers came about so soon after i bought him... so...

    Feeling like a failure...

He's on a supplement (lifeforce) - but having looked into the AV juice i got a bit lost as the best one to feed, what are you giving and where do you get it from. Unfortunately haylage is the only option at my yard, although its very dry and very high quality... not dissimilar from hay in...

    Feeling like a failure...

You may be right... however just to say this isnt worried about riding... its worried about riding Mickey. While he was out of action with his abscess i rode my friends mare and went out for a couple of 2 hour hacks...no worries, no jitters etc.
