Yes my ex racing mare lives out 24/7. She detests being stabled, box walks and weaves. I have a field shelter which she uses in the wind and rain but definitely likes her freedom and looks good on it.

The OP has spent the last year planning this trip and has been over every little detail a hundred times. The van has been converted internally at significant cost especially for the journey and the horses have more than enough room. The longest travelling time between stops are no more than 4/5...

My ex racer came to me with fairly bad scarring on her lips. Had a real job stopping them splitting especially in Spring for some reason. Used Alum powder with some success but recently finding bit butter is working well if applied before ridden work.

I use a Micklem and simply fasten the 'drop' strap above the bit. Never had any issues although one dressage judge did question it.
