My horse came in from the field last night lame on her off fore, not hoping but noticeable at walk on a straight line. I checked all her legs and they had not obvious signs of injury. I felt the legs and the inside of her knee on the lame leg was hot but not swollen. I cold hosed for 15 mins and...
would Tredstep gaiters go with any boots? Just having a look and done a search on here and they come in lots of different sizing options.
Tempted to wait until Hickstead then I can try on lots of different options, such a pain ordering then sending back!
Oooo I'll take a look, thank you! I've worn the bromonts in a 'you ARE going to fit!' kind of way so won't get back what I paid but have shoved them on ebay and keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully I'll be able to get boots with what's left over and if there's a bit extra I'll be chuffed!
I'm having a hard time trying to find boots that fit me properly.
I really wanted some ariat bromonts, tried them on in the shop, I thought they were far too tall (as they were touching my knee caps) but the sales assistant assured me they would drop and handed me some heel risers to minimise...
Just thinking from the tractors point of view. If I saw a pair of horses coming towards you on a main road at a stonking trot, the lead rider is waving their arms about, not at all concerened about only having one hand on the reins then I too would probably just drive by thinking they were...

I've owned my horse for 10 years and in that time her insurance premium has slowly crept up and is now almost £60 a month (working out at almost £700 per year). I've only made one claim in all that time but was very pleased with how I was dealt with. This insurance covers: third party, death...
I'm trying to do it on a budget but unfortunately only managing to do 6 away competitions a year which is not enough for most people.
£360 for part livery (hay and bedding including turnout 5 day week, livery so I just ride 3 days per week).
£10 for hard feed.
£40 for insurance
£15 for feet...
My auntie, who is very wealthy and it's a bit of a joke that she always gets presents that just aren't thought about got me a studed onesie, in a size 16 (I'm at 10) from tesco with the reduced label still attached.....cheers lol. Having said that I did wear it last night!
My collie comes out with me and absolutely loves it, I'm lucky in that the yard goes straight on to woodland. She's such a good girl trots in front, stops for a snif and stays close but gives horses plenty of space. She uses horse as barrier for dogs that she doesn't want to say hello to too lol...
My friends horse who I often ride has one on her saddle and I take it off everyone I ride because I hate it! I think it's because you are an extra 2 inches further away from the horse so changes the 'feel'. My friend absolutely loves it though and won't ride without it!
