It's not just at amateur/grassroots level there is a problem. Was at Burghley last Thursday to watch the dressage and one of the competitors there was too large for their horse - there was muttering about it in the stands all around me when they came in.
Legs below the belly, not the slightest...
I bought from Central England, but wasn't so impressed when I wanted to sell on so ended up using Warwickshire Horseboxes it was about 3 years ago. They were ok, process was reasonably quick and they paid up fairly promptly with one nudge. I did end up accepting lower price as there wasn't a lot...
As per the title, if you read "fun" as part of the description in a horse for sale ad, what does that mean it you?
To me it means not a plod, something with a bit about them but not too spooky/strong/not going to tank off.
Probably not suitable for a novice but good for a reasonably competent...
Ours are in day 8.00-3.30ish in winter, gives them some dry feet time and less damage to the field as they tend to hooley less at night. This is usually Dec- Mar depending on how wet the autumn/spring is.
It works really well for feeding and own hay during the day, drier for riding later in the...
I have a Peper Harow Thrifty on a 7T Iveco has a 3T payload but I only have a basic living but they do everything you've listed. Built last year - very happy with it. It's Aluminium sides so no worries about scratching paint down county lane!
My other option was Racemaster
I bought from Sue at Duckhurst Farm 4 years ago and would go back there again if I ever need to, horse exactly as described and she was straight forward to deal with. She brings in Irish horses. - Not to be confused with court case of
dodgy dealing associated with same address.
A bit further...
I wouldn't want to fat shame anyone but riding schools weighing clients makes sense to me for animal welfare - but they should make it clear before you get there.
It's not just riding schools I did the mile long zip wire in Wales - everyone was weighed as they have to make sure that it's safe...
I've got a mare that has bad ulcers, one grade 4, although they improved with treatment and we went through all options, omeprazole injection, antibiotics the lot, they didn't completely clear. She is in a stable group with 24/7 turnout, low stress life so in theory shouldn't have them but does...
I have a Comtois x TB - so not cob technically but on similar lines. I think I got the best bits of both she has the widest chest and forehead of any horse I've come across but is a narrower saddle fit and to ride than my ID, she also has the most lovely face and personality
I've used a company called English Bridles link below
https://www.englishbridles.co.uk/
and been very pleased with what they supplied, also very helpful if you call them .
Interested by this thread, I bought one of these rugs for my girl in the autumn from Harry Hall and have been really pleased with it until Saturday. When she came in very wet I thought it felt a bit damp under the base of the neck/shoulders. I was surprised as it hadn't happened before and we've...
A friend has a 17H, 23 this time and she is getting him ready for his 19 consecutive year eventing. He did advanced 4* in his prime - went round Burley clear XC, she now toddles round 90s on him. He loves it, and she'll keep him ticking over for as long as he's sound and happy to go.
