One of mine did this so I got a no tip feeder, can’t remember the name but it’s square with arms sticking out of each corner. She pushes it round the stable but can’t tip it over.
Surely the basic principles when fitting treeless or treed saddles are the same. No part of the saddle should touch the spine, the weight bearing should be spread over as big an area as possible and no pressure points?
Only asking as a friend tried a treeless in my horse which was touching her...
After a long ride, more than 3 hours, do you loosen your girth on last bit home? I'd been out for 4.5 hours yesterday with a friend and stopped to loosen girth on the last bit of ride. Friend said she never did this and didn't know anyone who i did. So I just wondered if anyone else does.
I've been using Maxitrol for the last year. My horse has chronic keratitis in one eye, vet is happy for me to use it long term. I tried stopping but it flared up within a week so I'll keep using it.
Mine was a lovely dark colour with a white blanket when I got her as a yearling, she started roaning at 5ish and gets lighter every year. Her mum stayed the same colour all her life.
I use a shires fine mesh full face mask with nose piece. It stops the headshaking just get a bigger size to go over your bridle. I also use one in the field to limit exposure to pollen.
