Best car to tow on B licence

I tow my single Ifor with 2 litre TDi C-Max zetec. My single Ifor trailer is from 2004 so has an unladen weight of 770kgs and had mine downplated to 1500kgs. The kerb weight of my car is 1520kgs and GVM of my car is 1990kgs so safe and legal all around and is under 3500kgs limit for a B-license...

    Aldi equestrian this Sunday

I went in after the mucking out to do my weekly shop with one of my friends on the yard as we were both looking forward to looking at the horsey stuff but it was all naff. She is 5'6" ish and a size 10 and we found "large" and the "size 16" would fit her in the things and me being 5'9" and a...

    Aldi equestrian this Sunday

I don't bother with the Aldi jods as I'm tall and they are never long enough in the body for me so the waist always ends up at my bum cheeks- not really the look I'm going for, lol! I usually buy their socks but I'm disappointed at the "Tron" looking socks this time so hopefully the tops will be...

    side saddle restoration

Be prepared to spend hundreds if not £1000+ on restoration too. Ask me how I know... :P I've never had a "cheap" side saddle (and I've had a fair few side saddles!!). Each one has had it's own unique thing that I've had to get repaired. My two offside side saddles both have busted trees so those...

What petrol car to tow with?

Hi guys, my beloved C-max 2 litre diesel looks like it could be on it's way out. It's a brilliant tower with so much torque and power to tow with, but with the new government diesel laws coming in and the MOTS will make it harder for diesels to pass, my OH doesn't want another diesel. What do...

    Your cribbing experiences?

My old mare used to crib in her stable but not in the field. She would also crib if you gave her treats as well and cribbed at the two different stables I had moved her to. Then when I moved to my current yard, she stopped cribbing instantly and never did so right till the end of her days!

    Horse-insurance.co.uk..anyone used them?

Just shopping around and they seem like the cheapest for what I need. Has anyone used them? Thoughts please? Thanks :)

Horses weeing when they see you

It's weird as my old mare never did it when someone else brought her in and my new mare doesn't if someone else does it either, just when I arrive :D Like I said, none of the other livery horses do it when their owners bring them in. Harriet did not do this with her old owner either, it has...

Horses weeing when they see you

My old TB mare, Hattie, used to do this when I used to go get her in from the field and now my new TBx mare, Harriet, has started doing this over the past few months too. No one elses horses on the yard do this when they get brought in. LOL, is it me? After Hattie used to wee, she used to walk...

Ifor Williams trailer refusing to budge

I'll see the YM tomorrow morning when I'm down and ask her if she can get her husband out. It's due a service anyways and fixing trailers is his proper job so he can do it at my yard without me having to worry about dragging it to him. After he freed up the brake in November, I was taking it out...

Ifor Williams trailer refusing to budge

No, I don't leave the handbrake on and I don't reverse park it (I back it up into position, then pull forward and then unhitch and push it back by hand). Whacking doesn't help (I've tried) either. What sort weight are we talking about to put into my trailer to put weight on it to set the wheel...

Ifor Williams trailer refusing to budge

Up until my mare got injured and got PTS last June, my Ifor 401 had been in regular use every weekend. Then got my new mare last August and trailer was fine and did not travel anywhere as wanted her to settle in, etc. Since November, my trailer has developed a problem where the nearside front...

    Aldi equestrian range

I love the Aldi socks and tops but I'm tall and their blasted jods are too low waisted on me so they sit WAY below my hips. The tops are good and long if you are tall though :D

Chaps for the tall and no-so-slim-of-calf?

Thanks for the suggestions and the tip about the Tuffa ones. Will have a look :D :D

Chaps for the tall and no-so-slim-of-calf?

I did look at the XL's but they only do regular and short height in them. If they are too short (esp after they drop with use) , the edges get caught under the saddle flap and give me sores . I use 60" stirrup leathers and have a 36" inseam and ride with a long leg so the longer the better with...
