Just posting to see if anyone happens to have any alternative management suggestions that have made a difference, already had multiple vets opinions and following all their advice!
I have a 9 year old warmblood mare who has a real issue with recurrently tying up. First happened the day after...
Hi, my gelding started the Liverpool cream treatment for 3 sarcoids on his chest, belly and sheath. Does anybody have any advice for managing them during the process or anything to watch out for. I knew it would swell but after 6 hours its gone from pea sized to tennis ball sized on all three...
Mine started his course today, he has sarcoids on chest, belly and sheath. The vet is coming back to reapply cream another 4 times, 2 days apart so fingers crossed it will work for him.
Looking for recommendations on best feeds for new horse, he is very underweight and also a very fussy eater. Looking for a feed that is not going to fizz him up too much either as he's just a baby who doesn't realise how powerful he is! Also looking for chaffs that a fussy eater is more likely...
Would stringhalt put you off buying a horse if she was perfect in every other way?We are currently looking at a showjumper with stringhalt, she is perfect in all ways other than her condition, she is a 9 year old 17.3 and it seems to be very mild. We have the facilities to keep her living out...
15.1 Mare use her mainly for showjumping and some eventing, apologies for the wonky neck but she just will not stand for confo pics!! She's a tb x welsh cob
I really wouldn't want to! Also may be difficult to get a suitable rasp in 2 days ( used to have one but since sacrificed). I don't trust many people with her precious toes!
I'm due to be going out showjumping on Sunday and farrier is due Monday but her feet (barefoot) are looking rather long. Although I know they aren't causing her any discomfort, looking for opinions as to whether you would still compete? They aren't excessive or unbalanced just a tad longer than...
I'm going to be showing my new mare in hand in a few weeks however she sweats up whilst travelling, she's not clipped as not a ridden pony so not really an option. I just don't want to arrive for the sweat on her flanks to dry into the thick clumps (not sure how to describe!) of hair. Is it...
Were you at ecclife? The regulars competing there really need to get a decent farrier! Most are using the same guy and he's awful, he trimmed my mares feet once and will definitely not be touching them again!
4.45am I leave the house to do the horses..... 4.45 and not a word of thanks from them. Just kicking the stable doors to make sure I have a headache by 5am! I'm sick of pushing wheelbarrows up Frozen muckheaps by torchlight every morning!! Bring on summer
I've (possibly stupidly!) entered a Christmas puissance next weekend and they want all horses in Christmas fancy dress. How can I plait tinsel into a mane? I would plait into tail but have just pulled!
Thanks (and sorry for an early Xmas post!!)
