    Disheartened regarding horse

You have my sympathies - I have a seven year old who has had professional schooling twice a week for over two years at vast expense and she still doesn't go that nicely. It's so frustrating isn't it.

    Highland pony brilliant but..

I was brought up around highlands. They always turned their backs on us, because they loved tail scratches

How do you know when he's just not 'The One'

Sounds a bit riggy to me

Thorowgood T8 gp or compact gp how do you rate them?

I got a TG T8 compact GP for my flat backed croup high TB x connie youngster and it didn't work at all. The tree wasn't nearly flat enough, it rocked badly and the horse loathed it. Personally, I think they work better on the A frame TB type than anything with a flattish back, because IMO the...

    Poo-Picking!!!

I loathe it. I seem to spend 90% of my yard time poo picking and end of paying someone to ride my horse twice a week because I'm too busy poo picking to ride. Bonkers!

Viewing: love the horse but has lumps & bumps! WWYD?

I was recently looking for a similar type for a friend recently and for what it's worth I think it's a fair price if it's as safe and experienced as you've found it to be, even with the cosmetic leg issues. People are queuing up to buy up to weight really safe types.

    New puppy routine

This is my view too. Last pup slept in crate right beside my bed and as soon as she woke up and started shifting about I took her straight out. She stopped waking me in the night after a couple of weeks and was the cleanest, easiest dog to house train ever. I think because she never got to mess...

    Which breed...

we had a staffy x JRT and she was the most loveable biddable active little dog. We currently have a patterdale who is the most awkward, beligerent git- the great majority of people I meet who have them would never have another!

Pts because of lameness - method? Who does it?

I'd go for injection if the horse was old, sick and just needed a helping hand to go on its next journey. For young and feeling well in itself I'd choose bullet. Saying that I had my ill, 16 year old dog PTS a few months ago and it was dreadful and very traumatic as her circulation was so poor...

    Neutering rabbits

Mine have a wooden Wendy house which I bought off ebay second hand for £40. Insulated and boarded out interior, wire meshed over the window and added a second level - a wide shelf really. We then created a pop hole and attached a run based on concrete with a corrugated plastic roof. Probably...

    Neutering rabbits

I have two rabbits - a male and a female, both neutered. They love each other so much and are fab pets - they are worlds apart from the angry, hormonal, lonely rabbits I had as a child. I think rabbits need company, and IMO it's cruel to keep them alone.

    Nappy/Lazy horse

Sounds over jumped and is now throwing in the towel. Give her a decent break from jumping.

To buy - lightly backed or not sat on?

Defo get it backed. It would look highly suspicious to me that you'd done all that work and then not sat on - unless you had a really compelling reason eg it was a tiny pony or you were pregnant etc

Dog beared her teeth at husband

Personally, I avoid dragging dogs out from under furniture because it will inevitably cause conflict. Instead, I'd do something to make them come out on their own steam- my patterdale thinks when a cupboard is opened he may get fed so I'd probably do that. Or shout "cheese" which always makes...

    Who has a solution saddle

I have a native dressage and also found mattes sheepskin don't seem to sit well. I'm currently using a premier equine sheepskin and a avacallo gel riser and the PE certainly seems to sit better with the cut of the saddle.
