I use Fabsil Gold and sponge it on - liberally!

    Behavioural?

Loads of good advice on here... Having ruled out ulcers and kissing spines if this was me I think I would look at the ovaries next. If they are clear then a full lameness / body work up - even if she doesn't look obviously lame there still might be something going on and she is compensating. A...

Harry Dabbs 2nd hand dressage saddle - Expectation model?

I'm on the look out for a 2nd hand HD dressage saddle. Eventually I found one I liked and contacted HD to see what model it was. They told me its an 'Expectation' model. Has anyone ever heard of this model please???

Hives caused by clipping - baffled as to why.

Possibly... I'm going to try medium blades instead of fine (freshly sharpened and cleaned); much less oil; a different oil to Lister and Clippersharp Fine; bath beforehand with shampoo for sensitive skin and a different softer rug that's been washed in something specific for sensitive skin too...

I'm off to google 'how to oil clipper blades correctly'!

    Mud Fever

I clip my horses' legs (one is a IDx the other a connie) and when I bring them in, the mud is hosed off and then the legs are dried thoroughly and vigorously with clean towels. I sometimes put quick dry leg wraps on afterwards (PE or Ruggles). But usually the towel dries them off. I apply muddy...

Hives caused by clipping - baffled as to why.

He seems to be peeing as normal :-) He's never reacted to the drug itself and was injected last 5th September. He was clipped 3rd October - and then had a reaction.

Hives caused by clipping - baffled as to why.

I have a 9yo connemara and I've had him for 5 years and clipped him every year for 5 years. No issues until last month when he was clipped by a local clipper lady and the next day he had broken out in hives all over his neck and face. I immediately assumed dirty blades and/or clipping oil (which...

Not sure what to do- kids pony

So sorry to hear about all your problems! My big lad with hock arthritis (which he's had since 6) would plant and shuffle when being bothered with his hocks. My other boy, the pony, plants when he's sore too (stifle issues). So I would make a guess and say the planting/shuffling etc is...

Western horse are they lame ?

I can't really comment on the lope but I recently watched a Carl Hester masterclass and when I was watching one of the horses doing a collected canter it looked lame to me. Or at least uncomfortable.

Best reasons someone has thought you’re a time waster ?

I've had this from dealers who will never tell you a price but ask you for your budget. Then whatever figure you tell them is usually the price they come up with (as long as its not a ridiculous low budget you have obvs). Also people do that to see if they can bombard you with loads of...

Best reasons someone has thought you’re a time waster ?

I spent 5 hours travelling (there and back) in the peeing rain to see what I thought was a lovely WB mare. The owner had her on sales livery and clearly had no idea what was going on. Anyway I arrive to find a mare in poor condition covered with rainscald which was untreated and sore. Obviously...

    Saddle slipping sideways - help!

I have a pony who due to stifle problems pushes his saddle and rider to the right. Saddle was made to measure and he has been under vet and physio supervision. Anyway lots of working with him to get him moving straighter has finally started to help. Saddle is also girthed up with front and...

    What's the issue?

Not sure if this will work for you but I schooled mine in a small field then a larger field (finally a huge field!) to get him used to being outside the school but not associate grass and space with a 'yee hah'. He is hoof perfect now.
