11 degrees

It is probably a 200-300 then if its a middle, 450 is a big heavy rug to throw over and the 50-100 is slightly puffy but light ?
Oh yeah that sounds about right. It's definitely not super thick, but it's got a decent amount of padding for it. I'm after getting her a slightly warmer one for this winter, but I don't know whether to bother because I normally just double rug if it's very cold (she's ancient and she feels the cold). But then she hasn't had a new rug for ages so it would be nice to spoil her!

My mother raised me to be terrified of ruining wooden floors my heart!
I imagine if my two were in the house Judy would sleep on the bed and Barry would eat everything not edible cuz he puts everything in his mouth ?

My animals are my children too , im just a bank to the kids lol

Haha fair enough! I can’t wait to buy my first a pony..and hide it from my SO

Your horses don't want to be toastie-just not cold. My native type is clipped out (inc legs) and has a 50g turnout on overnight and a 50g stable for about an hour before I ride to warm his back muscles. Every horse is different though. One of mine seemed happiest in what is in my opinion over rugged, another happiest unrugged unless it was raining. Both are very fine coated WB. All of them hold their weight though

It was a turn of phrase. I'm well aware of over-rugging and never do it.

It was 4c overnight last night and rain and Lari was out in a 50g rug. I must admit had I got my 100g back from the rug wash I'd probably have put him in one of those but I'm keen for him to grow a coat to try and rough him off a little in case he is retired.

I'm getting a bit worried about how to rug him at night in his stable - from tomorrow night until Monday afternoon he's on box rest and all my stable rugs are also at the rug wash.

I'm thinking I might have to go out tonight and buy a cooler type rug or summer sheet.

Can you leave him in one if his turn out rugs rather than buy a new stable rug for a few days?
