Same, I have a 1996 2.8 Diesel Shogun. I was paying £175/year tax. It says on the H&H website that those with the increase were paying £210. Does that mean that this doesn't effect me? (please, please, please!)

Any cars registered before March 2001 are taxed on engine size

So over 1.6cc means you both will pay £180 per year as result of the budget.

Equally I would pay £180 on my polluting 1983 13 mpg petrol Land Rover, but £205 on my Kia Sorento (band F)

OK, I haven't got an intelligent head on today, so bare with me so I understnad...

If you have a car registered before March 2001, and it's over 1.6cc, it doesn't matter how polluting it is, you will only pay the normal (now £180) tax?

If your car is newer it matters what band it is in?

Yep that's correct

Unless.... you have a pickup, in which case a Euro 4 LGV applies and you only pay £115

Should have bought a L200, Rodeo, Navara or Ranger rather than a Kia!!!
