What are people wearing to badminton today and tomorrow?

Having a flare up and my stoma site is really painful so I can’t wear leggings like I was planning as it’s going to be much too painful. My only option is a dress and wellies and I’m just worried I’m going to get laughed at :(

You'll be fine in dress and wellies, lots of different outfits worn, including v short skirts and any form of boot!

Anyone taking dogs, take note that traders stopped dogs going in tradestands yesterday and same applies today.

Some very entitled dog people on FB throwing their toys out the pram.
Am I the only one who wouldn’t take a dog in a trade stand anyway??

When Bolesworth was a quieter venue and long before the big arena was built we used to take JD as it was a nice quiet day out. We never once took her in trade stand, one of us would hold her outside.

The trouble is that those sort of tradestands (understandably) pack a lot in/have a lot at pretty much floor height and not much space to move in aisles between stock. The reactions on FB were pretty entitled! I'm sure they can sell muddied stock to the horsey bunch though, we're not likely to fuss about some mud on a pair of jods 😂
Dog creche might be busier than usual

Yesterday every dog I saw was wet and miserable, and yes, plenty were being dragged around the trade stands.

The day before when the weather was much better I still nearly trod on a whippet and then a small fluffy thing - the whole trade stand area is far too crowded an environment to take a dog in.

Badminton even encouraged people to post pics of the muddiest dogs on their FB page :(. The dogs were hating it.

Back home to watch the XC on the telly. Have my Badminton polo shirt, hoodie and liveried small toy pony on hand to set the scene 🤣.

I went on Friday and even though it was quiet compared to XC and SJ days I was tripping over dogs. I am prepared to have my head bitten off but I would never take a dog to Badminton even if the weather was fine and everywhere was dry. I just don't think it's a very pleasant experience for them unless you avoid the crowds and therefore, don't do any shopping or walk the course etc. Just my opinion.
I'm going to have day of watching Badminton TV with a break in the afternoon to go to Coronation tea party (hopefully there's something other than tea to drink!) and catch up in the evening.

No, we've never taken our dogs in a trade stand either! It's part of the reason we don't generally take our dogs to big events - well, to be fair, we tend to go to Badminton on dressage day now and they can't go in the grandstand - as I do enjoy browsing the trade stands (OK, shopping is more accurate ...!) and not having a dog makes everything so much easier.

I'll happily take them to small events but not big, busier shows where shopping can be part of the experience.

Is the showjumping tomorrow going to be on the same grass area as the dressage arena?

Yes it’s the same arena.

I haven’t gone this year but in some ways I’m kind of glad judging by all the mud! Unfortunately I don’t have any spare money this month for Badminton TV so I’m going to have to live vicariously through this thread instead 😅

Just aswell I logged in as apparently I automatically chose renewal last year and it has resubscribed me 😅

I wonder if that's what's happened with mine. Can't see anywhere that shows this but my subs were due to expire yesterday but the expiry date on the site is tomorrow so a pleasant surprise last night when I did go on to try to resubscribe to find I couldn't, and have access still for the cross country.
