Boggle is looking amazing! That nasty 10% patch (I didn’t realise it was actually pretty bad albeit a very small area) is almost gone. They are delighted with his progress! We should be past any abscess risk now too.

He had a whole crowd of vets come in to see him with treats 🤣

We are going to continue with the antibiotics for another ten days, scan again in two weeks and then that should be it.

And the vet said to start doing some things with him now, long reining etc to see how he does.

Clever Bog 😄😄😄

Thank you everyone! His main vet is going to come and sit on him when he’s back in work, he is her favourite patient ever 😄

Such a nice practice, they asked me to email the video of him bouncing around in the pasture so the ICU team that cared for him can see him now.

He certainly makes an impression on people, doesn't he!

He really does. He combines exceptional intelligence and superiority with cuteness and it’s a lethal combo 🤣

I did laugh when he towed the nurse across the car park though, woops. I think there’s a rope halter in his future and I’m going to have to install some manners back into him soon

Bog still doing well! Seems to be happy enough with short walks and poles. Need to get some long reins on him soon.

He rolled in the Sandy dusty outdoor and stuck his nose right in the surface, he did then have a coughing fit when he got up :( and seemed to suddenly go a little quiet though it was hot, so I didn’t continue. Hopefully it was nothing…

I’ve been really enjoying riding Beau, he’s totally different to Bog as such a sweet gentle boy. Had a jumping lesson this week which was great!

But I miss my Bog ❤️. 41B849BA-0839-440E-8289-0283B9DCE7D7.jpeg

Possibly the cutest I’ve ever seen Boggle! I approached him with his saddle and he looked genuinely THRILLED, turning his head towards it with his ears pricked. I haven’t long reined him since he was a baby and did twenty minutes on the barn trails and he was just so happy.

I did get a squeal and all four feet off the ground when I used one of the reins to give him a slap as he kept reaching down to snatch the grass. Other than that he was perfect and peppy and just normal Bog!

I just cannot WAIT to get on him again. By the time that comes around it’ll be the longest I’ve ever not ridden him for in our time together. ACF9376B-96A1-4983-8B75-A144A97194B0.jpeg437C7100-B473-4F87-8FAE-17874C4CBD2E.jpeg

Bog is doing great. I’d say he has 65% of his muscle back and I’ve only just started long reining him around the barn trails in the last week. Just 20-30 mins but it’s fairly hilly, then doing a few mins of trot each way in the arena. Absolutely no sign of an issue with his breathing or any coughing during work. It’s early days of course but…

I am trying to shed a bit of a weight to make it as easy as possible for him but I really think I’ll be back on him in September. That’ll give us some time to do lots of hacking before the snow hits!

I need to figure out soon if I take him to Arizona for the harshest of the winter months, need to look at some barns but it’s been so hot there I haven’t wanted to go see anything when I’ve been!
