No name yet, I loved Dixie but it has too many not nice connotations here which is a shame. We also kind of like Nyx, Skye, Millie….

Any ideas welcome! We want something outdoorsy and earthy I think.

I like the names wren, Amber, parsley, Tillie, Charm, Nutmeg, Fern, Kya, Eden.....

Beautiful pup! I love the name Wren also Fern and Tillie because I had a Tilly and she was an amazing little dog.

The golden poppy is Californias national flower - pepper and poppy has a sibling vibe to it, though would they get mixed up who you were calling as they’re similar?

Cally? - ha! That reminds me of a black mare cob I rode as a kid!

Ochre…reddish soil, sunsets…

Thanks all! Great suggestions 😄😄 We actually thought of Poppy and love it but I think it may be a little similar…Nyx would continue with the Greek theme with Atlas. I love chilli but OH doesn’t! So many names that I like are taken (other friends dogs, etc!).

I will have to dig up some photos of baby Atlas. I just remember him being super tiny and dainty and thinking no damn way could I get on this horse I’d crush him. You all assured me that at 3 he’d look very different by 4 and 5, and sure enough he’s now an absolute chunk of a thing with a ton of power that comes with that short back!
 
Appreciate all the name suggestions!! I am somewhat apprehensive about the 5 hour flight to get her home though. Hopefully she will just sleep.

Wow just looking at this horse at the moment and thinking I can’t believe that he’s alive, and looks like this.

He is acting like he owns the place though, he’s very proud of himself. The Boggle vibes are real! His seller just sent me videos of a rather gorgeous black version of him and I had to sit on my hands given my history of buying my ponies their own pet pony 🙈

It will be interesting to see what saddle will work for him and if I’ll even be able to fit my arse on that back!

He’s a compact tough beast isn’t he?! Wow…lovely. I especially love how his top lip overlaps his bottom lip….😁

He does that when he’s been told off, which he had because he tried to stick a paw out. When he’s feeling really like he’s been unfairly told off the top lip overhangs sooooo much and he has the most petulant expression 😂

He’s got so much character and a lot of spirit!

And yes quite the shape. And when he wants to, he really moves rather well for a little Morgan pony thing.
