The thing with pts decisions is that YOU have to live with them, I know lots of people say better a week too soon etc but if you look at your pet and know with modifications and drugs they are happy and pain free then I think your right to wait until that changes. I'm all for assisted suicide ( and feel like death today) but I don't want someone to end it all for me because I had a few bad days while some meds got tweaked or whatever. Sending lots of hugs, it's a really horrible time for any owner xx
If you are in enough pain to be screaming, the meds aren’t working.
I feel for Lucy and hope she is soon at peace.

I hope OP passed her driving test.

From what she says though the dog isn't screaming, she's just not coping with uneven ground, make adjustments and monitor is fine in my opinion as long as she makes the call ( which I believe she will) when this changes. I'm just saying that she's the one with the dog in front of her having to make a decision that she is comfortable with.

Lucy will have been in pain and borne it stoically, the way dogs do.

Twyford needs support and reassurance that she has made the right decision to have Lucy pts today.

@TwyfordM I hope everything has gone smoothly for both you and Lucy today and she is at peace. You made the right decision for her, please don’t doubt that.

Sorry I missed the pts today bit, I was merely saying that she is the best person to make the WHEN decision and shouldn't be made to feel bad if others don't agree with it.
I hope you're doing as well as you can Twyford xx

Failed, miserably.

So essentially. Having the shittiest day imaginable.

She's going in tomorrow morning
I am sorry you are having such an awful time. Take heart, things will get easier, you will know you have done all you can. It is horribly sad to say goodbye to a much loved friend - she has been so lucky to have you on her side.
