The BBC really didn’t show what happened with Toledo. In fact, they didn’t show any horse falls or lameness at all. I wouldn’t have known anything happened just based on their coverage

They shoed swallow springs hit the fence and being pulled up and also showed Ros canters fall
I just meant from following this thread yesterday to the coverage today. But the coverage on the BBC was very limited time wise so that’s probably a given, and I’m glad they didn’t spend that time showing falls. I hadn’t realised whatever happened with Toledo was not widely seen. I am so glad to hear he’s home and recovering.

Burghley TV didnt show it either when it was live yesterday afternoon. We saw him start and jump a few and then they focused on others and the commentator said 'I have to bring you some bad news about Tom and Toledo. Apparently it happened just after the trout hatchery.'

So so pleased for Oli. Very well deserved and delighted for David Doel too.

Richard Skelt only has one horse at any level of note and has never completed a 5 star. Good decision on his behalf.

Only watched the highlights as cancelled Burghley TV as was at a stay away show until late last night. Drove past Burghley twice though!

They did show it, and it's still on the coverage

I’m not hugely fussed that Oli won as can’t warm to him but do like Ballaghmoor Class

I wonder if they’ll keep going with Swallow Springs at Badminton and Burghley. He just doesn’t seem to be able to manage them or enjoy it.

Late here again! They did show Toledo on Burghley tv , they went back to him and showed Tom off him and holding him and they explained what happened. BBC have for so precious about we mustn’t see anything bad. Burghley tv went back and showed lots of the mistakes. They turn away the cameras at first to make sure it’s not anything too bad.
I just don’t think Swallow Springs has adapted to Oliver’s riding.
Anyway I am delighted for David Doel, Harry’s young horse , Pippa still up there and the amazing Topspin.
I would have liked Liberty and Glory to have been higher, uncharacteristic show jump down.
My granddaughter did brilliantly being watched by so many people and having her rounds commentated on.
I usually reserve my chats about their competing for the morning thread so report will be on there tomorrow.
On the whole a super Burghley.

Missed the coverage but have got myself caught up - delighted for Alice and Topspin and have loved watching their partnership. If there’s one horse I would love to borrow for a day to do some xc with I think it would be him, he looks like he’d look after you and I have a bit of a soft spot for him.
