"To move yards.
Looking to temporarily put my mare out on loan whilst away travelling.
She can just stay sat in the field, so will only consider the right person!

No price, but to cover all costs incurred during the time frame."

.....

So they want someone to pay for the upkeep of their horse for three months whilst they go travelling, then take them back. What a great deal...🙃

At one time I may have been interested in something like this, depending on the horse.

It sounds like if a mutually beneficial agreement can't be found that the horse can just stay at grass. I would agree it was unreasonable if the horse needed restarting or was a 'project' but if it is nice enough and able to step straight into a role, it could be great for someone.

Agreed, I’ve seen friends borrow horses for 2-4 months when theirs have been injured. It’s surprising how many people will take a nice horse on short term to play with.

If you’ve got your own land and the horse is easy going, you can several weeks of solid riding in at fairly little cost.

When my back was really bad before Christmas and the physio told me it could be 3 months before I rode again, I had a discussion with a friend whose mare was off work with suspensory issues about her having Wiggy until I was better. It didn't happen as I didn't want him to move as he's only been with me a few months and, while she came and rode him a few times, it was just that bit too far to be a regular thing but I can see that it could be a useful arrangement.

I'd ignore the ad becaue the seller sounds like an idiot! So I doubt she has instilled any sensible boundaries and routines with her fluffy pet pony. Who probably has 300 rugs and no turn out.

because we all have adequate turn out at home?
I’ve got a big lawn and a stable (ahem, log shed, will be warm in there though)
It’s not on livery, will she sell to me?!

An unlicensed wannabe riding school outside Godalming.....
Dressage horse mentioned amongst the flim flam was ridden by a Carla Marie Maskell from I of W. but can't find the owner. *

saw a post today stating the pony was “a real lump of a colt”…10/10 marketing. the photos in no way showed a pony with lots of bone of the type where this is desired either, it was just a little coloured.

"Looking for the impossible....."

There are so many ads starting like that now. And guess what. They all want:

6-12, sane, sound, easy to ride horses for BE90/100/N; or BS 110/120 with good manners and no quirks and easy to do in every way.

Or the same in pony versions for PC, Beach rides, unaff to 90 etc.

With a mid 4s budget.

Surely it is just too frustrating to try and buy something worth 10K+ (potentially much more, more with any sort of record) with a budget of 5? Not to mention the risk of having a total dud mis-sold to you, because who else would undervalue a horse that much, other than a dodgy dealer. People who own or produce these paragons of virtue, know what they are sat on and what they are worth.

Plus if I were selling it would put me off immediately - just like 'no silly prices'. The buyer is advertising their intention to get something cheaper than it is actually worth!

Maybe 'Looking for the vaguely realistic' would be a better straegy for buyers :p

The irony is that those adds usually end with « knowledgeable/experienced 5* home awaits » - so they’re either well aware of the costs, but chose to ignore them, or delusional?
