PLEASE NO MORE TIME WASTERS
Looking for a safe happy hacker, schooling and low level showing type 15.2-16.2hh
Genuine horse with good manners on the ground and ridden must be able to hack alone! Would prefer with tack
No ongoing health issues or vices
No cobs or heavy types
Will consider full loan / lwvtb or just full sale, based in Devon and willing to travel up to 2 hours away
Budget: 2-2.5 (can change for right horse)
Pic for attention

If you could buy an allrounder that is safe and sensible, with no health issues, happy to hack alone and in co, good manners and tack included for £2k.... I'd take five!!
I got my past horse for 2.5k…lovely to hack out, lovely on the ground, lovely to jump, always sound. The trade-off was he got hot and tense doing flatwork, especially if there were jumps in the arena. And beaches/open fields were a no-go, immediate attempts to gallop off and frustrated rearing, bucking and unrequested piaffing if not allowed 🤣 Those were the days… my next steed will require a lot of saving. Dread horse shopping, I can never pick the good youngsters and so many older horses are lame or sick with dishonest sellers.

I am looking for FREE or CHEAP (LOW LOW 3’s)
-Bays have to have CHROME or I’ll pass
-preferably under 10
-would like something started/restarted but not a must
-can be a sane project-meaning no buck, bolt, rear
-Sound!!! Can have minor maintenance but this horse will be used for barrels and/or breakaway.

Willing to travel/ship but closer to Montana/North Dakota the better!

What’s chrome? White markings?

…not that I have a barrel racer at that price to offer anyway! 😝

Someone I know is selling a TB mare that is 1/10 lame as a happy hacker.

“PLEASE READ WHOLD AD 🥕 reduced!

Would make the perfect happy hacker and in time I believe will come right, sound out hacking, 1/10th off in the arena on the turn on one rein, so at the moment would not pass a vetting (doesn’t cause her any issues and can go off on 2hr hacks all day, loves her work), seems very much in the foot and sensitive, no heat anywhere, and does have periods where she comes right even in the arena. Pulls a shoe goes off as any tb would. But would be perfect for a low level home just wanting to enjoy hacking and not hammer her. “

I saw this and liked the optimistic use of ‘off’ instead of ‘lame’! 🙄

Poor horse. This is when I wish they screamed like dogs. I hope he either goes properly lame or starts to chuck the rider off rather than learns that nobody is going to listen to him. Why can't they understand that they just haven't found out what's hurting him yet?

Great to know that this horse is in the care of a behaviouralist. That’ll sort it.

Oh yes because we all know lameness is a behavioural issue 🤷 Jesus christ. I bet that page is the sort to say that the horse chooses to be lame to get out of work 😭

I’ve just looked at some of the other posts on this person’s page, and I really don’t like it. Either the way she rides or the way she describes the horses. I realise that as a ‘behaviouralist’ she is likely to deal with horses that have history (not necessarily physical) but her approach seems to be one of pushing them through it regardless. I don’t totally discount this in some cases but she seems at best unsympathetic, even with a sound horse.

Not exactly a cheeky ad, as it was just a person selling some lightly used saddle pads. I needed a simple one to use just under a surcingle while lunging, so I bought one which looked good in the pictures. The price was fair for a lightly used pad.

It arrived with no problems and I happily opened the package...just to find said pad definitely worse for wear, covered in gray horsehair, sweatmarks, mud and other stains. Nothing a good wash couldn't remove, but why behave like this?!

Maybe their mother wouldn't let them put it in the washer 😛
