I know a woman who has had horses in the past but could never afford to keep them so sold for best price at the height of COVID. She has put out 3 ads on FB today one after the other:
Wanted, free or cheap horse
Wanted, cheap trailer
Wanted, free livery in exchange for jobs.

She hasn't learned then.
My crystal ball can see requests for free/cheap rugs and tack next...

No, it is a thoroughbred with the price of a thoroughbred.

I have seen this add 4 times in recent weeks. It changes each time and now has the added punch of the passport... I have redacted the horses name as clicking on the profile of the person posting, they appear pretty volatile and would probably murder me!

RELISTING DUE TO TIME WASTERS AGAIN!
Horse for
⛡️

15.2hh 14year old pacing mare. Horse is broke to ride and drive, she’s got 4 beautiful paces walk, trot, pace and canter. She’s good with farrier, loading, dentist, she lives alone or in company. Horse has been there and done it all from drives to happy hacking. Horse has always done what I’ve asked, she can be ridden/driven by all different ages/riders. With us she has been rode by 7 year olds- 27 year olds, she’s been perfect in all ways. She does not kick or bite!!
No vices or lumps and bumps
She will need a replacement passport as it got lost in the post
Horse doesn’t need a big right up she is brilliant in all ways especially with the children!!
Serious buyers only!
Β£175

I would be interested in speaking to any of these 'time wasters' to hear their side of the story! And surely you cant legally buy a horse without a passport??

general allrounder. 15.2, 13 year old OTTB mare. No novices, no joy riders, will turn her hoof to anything. done local dressage, pleasure rides, XC, beach rides, sj 1m + at home but will need bringing back into jumping. Good to clip, groom, bath, vet, physio and farrier. Would just need sedation for the dentist as she wriggles.

Bad points -
Loading needs work will eventually load just out of practice.
Doesn’t like to be stood for very long she’s a crack on and go mare.
Occasional buck.
Schooling needs more work due to recently coming back from racing college.

Low 5 figures!!

Pretty looking small pony, advertised as trained in a specific way/methodology. Video of pony behaving itself in an arena on the flat with loose reins. No pics or indication as to whether it has ever: been to a show, been out hacking alone or in company, seen traffic, been ridden in an outline, seen scary fillers (or indeed ever jumped at all).

Mid four figure price.

Pretty sure it's a mistake but, a small ad on a page describing a saint of a 128cm pony who can bring your child on to jumping 75cm and turn on a dime, pony is described as worth it's weight in gold. No pictures. Price is given as 1 & 5Γ—0000.

So the price could be 5 x nothing = nothing, plus Β£1.... so Β£1

Or it could be 1 and 5 zeros so Β£100,000

Or it could be 1 & 5 & 0000 so Β£150,000

It really will be worth its weight in gold.

I was expecting it to say but he jumps well at home but apparently not that either 'have a run' bit of a weird way of saying boogers off sometimes.

sounds like a major mental and or (well likely) physical project. . hope he lands on his feet.

To be fair to Kate, and putting aside the, ahem, colourful history and language she likes to use, she is honest to a T with what she sells and doesn't faff people around.

On another note, I'm sure this one will fly off the shelf for a mild 7.5 grand... HQ 352294

By colourful history do you mean the horse abuse shown in the tic toc video? I know someone who bought from her, the horse was very dangerous, a true bolter (amongst several behavioural issues) and decked a pro with no difficulty, this was not mentioned at all and the horse arrived very thin. There have been recent cases where buyers returning unsuitable horses haven't got a full refund and the abuse they get is shocking, also selling a horse with no passport is illegal even if it's declared.

I don't know anything about a TikTok video - there was a YouTube video about 10 years ago that was 'leaked' so maybe it's that one. I don't know, also don't really care - I have no interest in acting public defender or prosecutor, just stated that her ads on Facebook aren't anything but black and white for an experienced horse person.

My friend bought a very cheap pony from her years ago I went with her to view him, he was about a third of what he should have been but she told us he had been living out, he came in a job lot from Ireland her young son had jumped him at a few events she had videos, she said his never refused a jump but could be a bit spicy.

He was a bit poor and he had sarcoids he was Β£900 we took him home the next day, pony literally won everything with her daughter she has him his 20 now.

I wouldn't advise everyone to go and buy a horse from them but I think if you know what your doing and you really like the horse it's worth taking a chance.
