It must be silly season - someone offering part loan 3 days a week...
Pony doesn't like to be ridden every day she likes a break in between 🤔
So as you're charging for a part loan are you going to not ride so your pony gets the break she likes? Or are you expecting them to pay, do all jobs for 3 days and only ride for 1 or 2!?

I’m sure I saw this, or one very similar. I laughed.

This one might not be cheeky/ridiculous, I'm not sure, I kind of want him... 19yo ex hunt hireling for companion or hacking £1750. I don't know if that could be a lovely, reliable horse to bimble about on?
His probably a bit broken I would imagine and quite expensive really.

He probably just wants a nice retirement

Saw one the other day, advertised as good to do, suitable for riding club activities, yadda yadda, good to hack alone or in company, used to traffic and farm machinery...then, the caveat..."Would not recommend out and back routes."

Oh, right. Points for being sort of honest, though who knows what they really mean. But it's not that good to hack then.

Just seen someone looking for a 15.3 - 16.2, 7-11yo all rounder with an ‘15🥕’ budget?? Typo surely?? At least add two more carrots??
What's this carrot thing? Is it to avoid Fesse-bouc's automatic filter that would catch anything that looks like a price?

Is it like the old Craislist thing where prostitutes would post their prices as a certain number of roses?

Saw one yesterday.

Ten year old. No competition experience. Been off work for 2 years due to owner having a baby. Now back in full work and fit.

8k.

'Off' in trot on a circle on hard ground.
I'm always deeply suspicious of those 'off work, because' ones. How hard is it to keep a sound, sane, decent 8 year old horse ticking over. Even with a baby. Any number of people would jump at a hacking share.

More likely that horse went lame, so was turned away, which suited owner anyway as baby - and has been brought back into work for selling, but is already struggling.

@conniegirl but you weren't trying to sell yours. I think if you've got a genuinely decent horse who should be at the peak of their value I'd be very dubious why you wouldn't get the horse out and going a bit to sell, like AE I'd assume there's underlying issues with the horse

A local person advertising themselves as sales/rehab/training livery etc. Had the same horse at various points advertised on their social media doing things out ridden, suddenly for sale "from the field" as they haven't time to keep it in work for reduced money. Last ridden video is maybe 6 weeks ago.
For one it's literally your job to keep horses in work and sell them and secondly, 6 weeks off from when the horse was cantering and jumping and now you can't bring it in to work - seems fishy to me

Mine was sheer lack of time. I wanted to ride him but with a new baby, even with a very supportive husband it still took 2 years to find the time. It was about the point i stopped breastfeeding that i got back on

I’m in a situation where I’ve now not ridden for several months, no fault of my horses. He’s safe as houses. I’ve searched for loaners/sharers and had nightmare people. A part of me thinks I should sell him as he’s wasted but I know I’ll be met with suspicion as to why he’s out of work now.
I feel I’ll never ride again the way my life is now 😢.

My pet hate is a bloody long wish list of a bombproof angelic horse for minimal carrots.... or people offering a share in their competition horse (which they still intend to compete) but it's an opportunity for sharer to 'learn'.... so basically you can be a groom for the day at competitions.....

Just seen one on FB - looks like a lovely 14.2, green in the school but very easy to do etc etc. But - six carrots!
Can someone clarify exactly what this means because either I've got it wrong, they've made an error in the advert or pretty much every equine these days is unaffordable.
Prices have gone up. 6k for something sound, easy to do even if it is green is about that price. Sometimes more.

Thank you - prices have gone up more than I thought!
I will have to mentally re-calibrate...

And I suppose that, compared to some of the examples on here, it's not too unreasonable. Seller is well known and well regarded so I think that's probably worth a couple of carrots alone!

Why do you feel like that, have you got a baby? Because if so, please be assured that life with an under three vs over three is like night and day - hang in there!!
